Hate to break it to you but their donation was private, it was meant to stay that way until they had a controversy on Twitter because stans were literally pushing them to put out a statement regarding the riots (which seems to this day I don’t see what they had to do with it aside from being POC), and so they had to come out and say “we had already made a donation”. You’ll have to take my word for it, but I was there as people were flooding them with aggressive messages accusing them of using black people simply for being a Hip-Hop group. It seems you don’t know a lot about them, and speak from an outsider’s perspective. I don’t even think they have any hopes of winning, and even if they didn’t they know it’s going to happen someday, luck’s on their side if you take a look on their history. You clearly aren’t familiar with their personalities and demeanor, very humble and respectful people. They’re actually very used to not winning and going to award shows just to watch and sit through the whole thing. The general public doesn’t know but they were underdogs in their own industry. All those years of never winning a single award yet they never took it out on the showrunners, voters/judges or staff. Why would they? They only reacted by “working harder”, it’s the one thing they know how to do. And one day it all started to go on their favor. And their label was comprised of a bunch of strays who were in the brink of bankruptcy. Any fan will tell you that to this day, they do not promote them well and I would go as far as saying that they even turned their backs on them to focus on their newer groups, it’s the cruel nature of that industry. They are not a boyband and people who label them as such expose themselves as, well, outsiders. Everything about their origin and rising to stardom was very interesting and fated, even. Just because they put out a bubblegum pop corny song about being happy during the pandemic doesn’t mean they are vapid/superficial nor is the type of music and lyrics they make. It’s as if saying that the wordsmith herself Taylor Swift is a bad writer because she has songs like ME! or Shake it Off, when in reality all that they are is proof that she can write simple songs just for fun whenever she feels like it. To me it’s a two horse race between Miss Swift and BTS, which are a force to be reckoned with.
All of this just for them to lose lmaoo
