Like I continue to say, I don’t think dynamite is winning. All the points you say are valid, and I understand them which is why I don’t think dynamite is winning.

All I’m saying is it’s more competitive than people on this forum give it credit for.

ROM didn’t make it into the general field either, although penned by two grammy nominated artists. If they really loved it, with your logic, they’d give it GF nods right? With that logic, Un Dia is more competitive than ROM.

Also, although it may not count for much, we have two people of asian descent in AOTY this year: Jhene & Jacob.

Gaga’s hot mess this year didn’t warrant anything more than two nominations so yes, I do consider her to still be a Grammy favourite. Besides that, ROM was a moderate hit and it has the two biggest pop singers on it so I think it’s between exile and rom.

It’s just my personal opinion but the noms for this category were fairly predictable and I think the wins would follow suit.

This is the only category where I feel good about Taylor’s chances tbh. Everything else is up in the air.

the only thing is I see exile as more that the academy supports Taylor the cycle as exile isn’t even a single

Taylor is smart and will certainly do something with Exile to campaign, not that she needs it to win here

Let’s not overthink this, only hits and songs with longevity win here, this is “Rain on Me” vs “Dynamite”.

When exile pulls of a Joanne (or a Body and Soul if we want to stick to this category) and shocks the few that didn’t believe she could win… exile is a frontrunner because Taylor has so much support this year. exile is objectively the best song here and easily the most acclaimed. Un Dia would be in the running if the song had anything to do or sounded like anything on Future Nostalgia. That’s the only reason why it’s out of the running. If Rain On Me wins it’s because the academy was itching to give Gaga and or Ariana something. But I doubt they are. Dynamite seems to be the non-starter here. If they win I’d be shocked. They don’t have a broad enough coalition within the academy yet. Bon Iver will likely attract alt/rock voters to this category as well to vote for exile. Likely something that helped Stressed Out win. Also if we want to go there 3/9 of the wins here have been male/female ballads.

So odd. Like I love and stan Taylor however I can admit when she’s not ahead. However in this category you have to do mental gymnastics to come to any conclusion except exile.

exile winning this easily. This will be Taylor’s easiest win of the night.

I don’t know why voters would vote for ROM tbh,

only if they disliked Taylor this year which is not the case
