I mean just a few days ago, The Guardian named it the best song of 2020. So I can understand that some people don’t like it, but it’s particularly annoying when they try to make it sound like the song is critically panned. Stan twitter is really taking over here. With that being said, I personally find Exile to be better especially lyrically but that doesn’t mean ROM isn’t also another great song.

Everyone can agree on that, but her fans aren’t able to root for Taylor without hating on someone else.

Its been a few months now of her fans constantly trying to discredit people that she is running against. It’s sad.

174 people voted for exile. Who are these 174 people? I think not more than 30 posts in these music forums.

I haven’t been here long enough to talk about a few months ago but it’s really accurate in this thread.

“Rain On Me” is a generic dance pop song that sounds like it was made in 2011.

‘Critical acclaim’ thanks to big collaboration hype doesn’t make it a good song. Not that this actually matters to this discussion, Pop voters don’t care about acclaim. ROM could have the worst reviews and it would still be a contender in this line-up since the “good song”(Exile) isn’t even a single and the other 3 are bad songs as well.

It’s so funny to me how swift fans are called delusional when trolls like borisy are trying so hard to make everyone believe ROM isn’t completely ass 💀 like this is clearly a namecheck for two big pop stars. How delusional do you have to be to not see it?

This whole thread has turned into people fighting about quality and not who will win. We may like a song, but we need to put the bias aside for who will win. Taylor is the frontrunner, Gaga and Ariana are the runners up and BTS is the dark horse. Simple as that.

People can predict whatever they want. Also, Taylor won’t pull a Joanne against the actual Joanne singer. lol It’s ROM vs Dynamite, and I’m actually rooting for the latter just for the kiis here.

Some people don’t think Taylor is the frontrunner though. It’s not that simple.

Let’s respect the opinions of those who think the results will go another way-

The Joanne singer missed all of the general field and tanked this year. The Joanne singer only won for Joanne because of Mr. Cooper’s film. What I’m saying is that exile a non-promoted non-single could win against moderate hits simply because it’s acclaimed and that Taylor is popular with the academy this year. The only reason why Dua isn’t in the running is because she isn’t the lead and it sounds nothing like FN. If Dynamite/ROM were to win the artists connected to them would’ve been nominated in the general field. Dynamite and ROM are shallow dance pop tunes that will get radio play but won’t wow voters.

You have yet to give anyone a reason to believe you. I know you want BTS to win (It’s clear) but they would’ve made it with Dynamite to the general field if the academy wanted them to have a big night. Trust me the BRP does not give a crap about letting them in because it gives the show more internet clout. The only reason why exile isn’t in the gf is because it wasn’t submitted there. If she had submitted exile it would’ve been there. Taylor is the only artist here that has a song that’s project is connected to the general field. I don’t have much against BTS, however I’m not gonna pretend like they have some sort of big shot of winning.

My post was a stand-alone post not related to BTS. Not everything I say has a direct correlation to them just cause I’m a fan.

Also, I’ve expressly said I don’t think they are winning. I just said they are more competitive than some people think.
