Intentions does have the advantage that Holy, Lonely, and Monster are on the radio right now. Might keep his name in the ears of the voters.

Using that logic, ROM can also take it home considering Positions is smashing on radio, 34+35 is getting good airplay, the aforementioned songs + Santa Tell Me (which is getting radio spins too and will re-enter the hot 100 next week) & even the non-single POV are all smashing on streaming. She also has a christmas special airing tomorrow (when voting begins) alongside Mariah Carey + a new christmas  single to go with it. I wouldn’t underestimate ROM.

IIRC, a non-single has never won this category.

exile is a top 10 songs, charted for over a month, and is getting over 500k streams daily on Spotify. It’s performing like a moderately successful single without radio play and pure sales.

by now I wouldn’t be surprised to see Intentions winning. when he can get in all pop categories with this era he can surely win pop duo with the biggest hit in the category

Doesn’t matter. Intentions is a dog crap song and most reviewers agree. It was a hit because of mass playlisting, promotion and payola. It’s not touching this award unless Scooter charges it to his debit card.

Wasn’t ROM submitted for ROTY? If they wanted to reward it, it would’ve been there as well.

Same goes for every song there that was submitted for the gf. exile wasn’t submitted there which is why it wasn’t there. Taylor has the general field support to win this award. Dua is only a non-starter here because the song has nothing to do with FN.

I don’t know why people think Grammy voters get in their cars, hear a song by a nominated artist and go “I’m voting for blank.” I don’t think it helps or hinders anything. Grammy campaigning like going over the creative process of the music, doing interviews, maybe special performances are things that help. Airplay not so much.

bad guy was below lover/truth hurts going into the final round of voting on radio, it didn’t change the results.

Airplay helps a lot, especially in pop. In other categories what you say might be true, but just look at the amount of radio hits nominated/win throughout the years in the pop field. Radio brings familiarity with a song.

Again, it Grammy voters know what they’re voting for pretty early on in advance. They aren’t changing their minds because they go on a ride and a nominated song plays.

who was the most talked about person of the year?
and truth hurts actually won pop solo because of how massive it became
