I am very glad that someone here bring the real definition of xenophobia. BOTSHIT stans were howling about this without even knowing what it means?
December 4, 2020 at 11:56 pm #1203895553people (specifically army) need to realise that not nominating BTS is NOT xenophobic. If the grammys were xenophobic than only US artists would be nominated. Racist? Maybe. But they are not xenophobic because xeno literally just means foreigner. And anyone can be a foreigner. If I go to another state I can be a foreigner. Canadians are foreign.
Xenophobia: An aversion or hostility to, disdain for, or fear of foreigners, people from different cultures, or strangers.
You clearly don’t know what xenophobia means. Also, brush up on your history. FYI: Canada, US, Austrailia, new zealand etc… were countries settled primarily by the english, and later other europeans. All of these countries have the same shared culture, as the first settlers were from england and overtook the indigenous people. Same “People”, language, culture, customs, food, religion, government etc… Are you seriously saying Justin Bieber, Adele, Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Hugh Jackman (all grammy winners) are all foreigners?
Grammy’s are also racist, as they segregate ethnic groups into different categories. “Urban” for black artists, and “latin” for latino artists. They also make sure you “stay in your lane” as they shuffle you back into your “Appropriate” designation. ie. Tyler the creator’s “Igor”. Not to mention black/latino artists are constantly “overlooked” in the main categories.
December 5, 2020 at 12:04 am #1203895557“Cup of milk, let’s rock and roll King Kong, kick the drum, rolling on like a Rolling Stone Sing song when I’m walking home Jump up to the top, LeBron Ding dong, call me on my phone” so right, these lyrics just make me tear up also if the grammys are xenophobic (which they aren’t as they nominated Dua Lipa who’s not American) than why would they win???
“So you’re a tough guy
Like-it-really-rough guy
Just-can’t-get-enough guy
Chest-always-so-puffed guy
I’m that bad type
Make-your-mama-sad type
Make-your-girlfriend-mad type
Might-seduce-your-dad type
I’m the bad guy, duh”The song that won both RoTY and SoTY had these lyrics…

this!!!! People of color are always overlooked in the general field and subjected to subcategories. Their music is always undervalued and less accepted. The Grammys have a pattern of awarding the same names in the GF each and every cycle and it’s tired. That’s why I will never deem them a credible awards show. It’s all about politics: safe bets, subjective truths, compliance and white privilege.

Bad guy’s melody and production were the best last year, that’s why it won soty and roty last year. Thou lover was my 1st option.
Dynamite has horrendous production with terrible melody and ear-bleeding lyrics. YIKES!!!!

Black pumas, jacob, haim, dua lipa all were new to general field this year.
Last year billie, lizzo, ariana, lis nas x, etc were all new to the general fields. These artists being popular doesn’t mean they are regularly awarded.

They didn’t have same culture, what are you smoking? Learn the history and they were completely different. Different society, culture, tradition, style etc. English being common doesn’t bring same culture.
December 5, 2020 at 12:35 am #1203895582Well, what can you expect from BOTSHIT stans? They call everyone xenophobic if the discussions don’t go their way. YIKES!!!
Anyways, i hope Ariana x Lady gaga win this to shut everyone’s mouth. It deserve anyway.
December 5, 2020 at 4:56 am #1203895688It’s not sad if dynamite wins though. Sure, the lyrics don’t make sense but is it hard to take it as the style? Nirvana’s teen spirit had no sense in lyrics as well and it’s still a really good song. The problem with it is the weak beat and backing track which is the strength of ROM for me (aside from the vocals).
Official Charts/Press/Critic Reviews/Historical analyses = Facts

December 5, 2020 at 5:59 am #1203895714I see exile getting this, ROM being the dark horse. the rest nope
December 5, 2020 at 6:02 am #1203895723none of these nominees even gave notable performances and that’s coming from someone who is a fan of several of those artists. having said that i think BTS and justin/quavo are a step below
December 5, 2020 at 7:47 am #1203895894Commercial performance is not the most important. BTS, Justin and Dua are out. It’s between Rain On Me and Exile. But Yummy over Stupid Love in Pop Solo may be telling
