“Despacito” will easily win this year.

Im afraid “Despacito” will be the next “Iris” in this category. Nominated for Record/Song and then losing to another song by a favorite group.

What makes you so certain it’s going to lose?

Just popping up to say that if you haven’t listened to Carrie Fisher read “The Princess Diarist” you really should. It’s an amazing recording and actually the best audio book I have ever listened to. She should win.

Honey, I wouldn’t be surprised if “Despacito” lost here. If it does lose, it will be to “Feel It Still” or “Thunder.”

Thunder is most-likely to win here. The Voting Members aren’t the BRP. Diversity is the least of their concerns. They’ve consistently voted based on music quality. And Thunder is way more popular than the rest during this second round voting period. It’s the second most played song on the radio and even its sales are strong. Despacito vanished.

With that logic, Closer would have won last year.

“Thunder” is mediocre af. If anything upsets “Despacito,” it will be “Feel It Still.”

If the voters reward a song like Thunder, which the vocalist says “thunder” like 60 times, they can choke.

Even Despacito would be a better choice than Thunder.

Closer is the exact opposite of what the Grammys usually reward. The lyrics, the voice, the beats, it’s all so generic that even its huge success wouldn’t help it. Imagine Dragons has a more “distinct”(not really) sound, it has a good shot.

They’ve rewarded worst songs in the past…
