Something Just Like This has a better chance of winning than Feel It Still or Thunder. This is Coldplay’s third nomination in this category, and they won the old category (that excluded collaborations) for Viva la Vida, and the random Pop Album nomination for their EP shows there’s a lot of love there. And SJLT was a bigger hit than either the Portugal The Man or Imagine Dragons songs.

And the Chainsmokers just won a Grammy last year, where they were also nominated for Best New Artist and in this category as well.

If anything beats Despacito, it will be that.

Not with The Chainsmokers associated with the song. I know, they’ve won Best Dance Recording, but that’s it. They’ll never win another Grammy unless they become respected by critics, media and public.

They’re respected enough to have won a Grammy and be nominated in this category two years running. One of them is also up for SOTY this year (for co-writing 1-800).

Regardless, I don’t think Despacito loses here.

But “people” don’t like them and Grammys play safe. They rewarded them for their big year, with the better single(DLMD is much better than Closer and was in an easier category). I don’t think they’ll win a Grammy soon. I could be wrong.

Do have a hunch that “Feel It Still” is going to eventually take this. However, Despacito remains the frontrunner.

Portugal. The Man doesn’t have any other supporting nominations, so I find it hard to believe this would be the song to win.

Coldplay are Grammy heavyweights and Coldplay are the current hitmakers, but this song feels so irrelevant, no?

“Stay” has 0 chance. I think “Thunder” would be the closest threat to “Despacito.” It was everywhere, on commercials, singing competitions, the charts, etc. “Thunder” would be the spoiler here, but I think “Despacito” at least has this lock if it slips in the GF.

Despacito is the clear frontrunner thanks to its nominations on the GF. But I don’t know it that’s gonna be enough. The song just doesn’t feel like a Grammy winning song, tbh, and I don’t say that because I dislike the song(I actually kinda like it and worse songs have won Grammys before). I won’t be surprised if it loses everything.

This category is very competitive and will probably be televised.

I still think “Thunder” is the biggest threat here.

I think Coldplay has the potential to steal this from Despacito.

Another sure win for Despacito but I would love for Feel it still to win.  I don’t think this would be televised because they would want to honour Ed Sheeran on the televised show (pop solo or pop album)  and Despacito most definitely going to win a GF. So they would get their fare share of live appearance.

Stay, Something just like that have zero chance at winning..

    For Thunder, fingers crossed!!

Why are people voting for Despacito? The song is already forgotten. Whereas “Thunder” is still in top 5 in sales, radio airplay etc…

Grammy voting ended several weeks ago, so Thunder’s current chart performance is irrelevant.

Despacito is the only song in this category nominated for Record or Song of the Year. A quick look at the category history would tell you that all but one time GF nominees appeared in Pop Duo/Group, one of them won. (The outlier was Iggy Azalea’s Fancy.)

Thunder is too new and will likely split votes with Feel It Still, which appeals to a similar voting bloc.
