    He’s fighting

He should’ve gotten more Grammy winners instead of Jessie Reyez and Leon Bridges

    SHOULD WIN: Christina Aguilera, Liberation

WILL WIN: Kelly Clarkson, Meaning of Life

    CHRISTINA AGUILERA

    2019 Grammy Award nominee:

Best Pop Duo/Group Performance - "Fall In Line"
    Best Rap/Sung Performance - "Like I Do"

I don’t see Kelly winning. Her album performed the worst out of the nominees, and I doubt she has enough support to not split votes with P!nk.

With no obvious frontrunner, I could see Kelly Clarkson or P!nk walking away with the award, but I still think Ariana and Taylor are the two main competitors.

Will Win: Ariana Grande, Sweetener Could Win: Taylor Swift, reputation Should Win: Taylor Swift, reputation Should’ve Been Here: Sam Smith, The Thrill of It All

He was wrongfully robbed an Nomination but whatever, Kelly & Pink deserve But it’s either Taylor & Ari

    I will always love you

I actually think Taylor and Ari have the best two albums nominated, so I’d be happy with their wins (I’d be fine with Kelly as well). If Sam replaced P!nk I think the lineup would be perfect.

I can see Taylor winning this award, but Reputation wasn’t her strongest album Compared to AOTY winners Fearless & 1989, Reputation just doesn’t hold out. But Taylor has had a great history at the Grammys so most likely she will win.

Personally, I hope Sweetener wins. 2018 was Ariana’s year, and I think she may have a shot if the voters take her seriously. But if not Ariana, then Taylor.

Ariana’s visibility right now is at a high. Two songs in the top 10 on pop radio, a multi-week #1 and a lot of media talk. She’s the frontrunner for Pop Solo and Album.

Kelly Clarkson’s “Meaning Of Life” is such a grammy bait. You guys are really underestimating it, especially in such a weak year. She won this category TWICE before.

Right now I have Reputation as frontrunner, but if not, It’ll probably be Meaning Of Life. Shawn Mendes, Camila and Ariana will split the “teen pop” vote.

She won this category TWICE before.

In years where she had massive #1/#2 hits (“Since U Been Gone” and “Stronger”).

I’m somewhat skeptical about her ability to win a third time, especially with the lowest-selling album of her career (and the overall least successful album in this category).

But I do think that if both Ariana and Taylor falter, either she or P!nk are next in line.

And which of these albusm had #1/#2 hits this year? Exactly.. The category is weak.

Quality also matters: The Fame Monster, 21, Stronger, Unorthodox Jukebox, In The Lonely Hour, 1989, 25 and Divide were ALL good albums at least in my opinion.

I don’t see sweetener joining that list. Even Reputation if it wins it’ll be just because voters will be like “whatever, let’s give this to the best-selling album since there isn’t a clear frontrunner”.

But if they’ll judge based on quality/personal preference instead (which they MIGHT do, see Best Pop Solo), I can easily see Kelly Clarkson take this. If you listened to her album, you’ll know it’s really the best album here.

Two of the other nominated albums have #1 hits, actually, and Ariana Grande currently has a #1 hit separate from her nominated album. But that wasn’t the point. My point was that Kelly has only won when she’s had big years. Outside of the two years she won this category, she has no other wins. She’s frequently a bridesmaid, rarely a bride. It’s hard to make a case for her here.

The Fame Monster, 21, Stronger, Unorthodox Jukebox, In the Lonely Hour, 1989, 25 and ÷ were also hit albums. Smash hits, actually, potentially barring Stronger.

Just because you think Sweetener is bad and Meaning of Life is great doesn’t mean voters will feel the same way. For the millionth time: you give your opinion way too much credit.

You realize that’s part of predicting right? You give your opinion credit way too much as well, when talking about what a great song the middle is.

Everyone does. It all comes down to how close your opinion is to those of the voters. And we will see.

So for the millionth time: stop going after people because they include their opinions of the quality in their predictions. It’s part of the prediction process. It’s the most annoying thing you do.

I’ve also used actual facts and statistics to state why “The Middle” could win (and I’m not even predicting it, btw, just pointing out that it doesn’t have zero chance like everyone else seems to think). My opinion of the song has nothing to do with it.

All I’m saying is that it’s dumb to write off Sweetener solely because you personally dislike it. Just like it’s dumb for you to write off “The Middle” for the same reasons when it could very well win all 3 awards it’s up for.

We had this conversation before the nominations about sweetener. I had a feeling all the way that the committee wouldn’t like sweetener. It ended up being what happened. So statistics and BB100 charts aren’t the only thing that matters. In fact, this year, they seem to become less and less relevant.

So you ought to also to try to predict what the voters will think of the record and whether they like it or not. It may be subjective, but it’s part of the process. If you manage to have the same opinion as the voters, you’ll win.
