Taylor already won this award and Reputation is not good at all, Ariana would be 3/0 while Taylor would be 2/2 in this category if she wins…If Taylor wins I am not watching the Grammys ever again!January 20, 2019 at 3:52 am #1202740530

Good for Taylor and good for you.
Everybody wins !January 20, 2019 at 11:56 am #1202740956
This is obviously going to either Sweetener or Reputation and it’s insane to think otherwise.
Ariana has the hype, Sweetener was the bigger step up career wise, it was more recent, it got better reviews from print media, the singles were better recieved and stuck around longer (with the exception of delicate), she’s newer and more hyped in general.
Reputation was bigger selling, better received by actual people, was the better album, and Taylor is more established and has a better Grammy history.
I think it’s fairly 50:50 but the Grammy’s tend to go with what/who is more hyped/ who had a big step up in career so I’d predict Sweetener.January 20, 2019 at 12:09 pm #1202740973
Just curios, do you think the voters actually listen to the whole albums?January 20, 2019 at 12:48 pm #1202741023

I don’t think most of them bother to listen to the albums after the noms are out, but voters are musicians and music journalists, so throughout the year they obviously listen to some albums.January 21, 2019 at 1:18 am #1202741470
Early December: 1. Reputation 2.Sweetener 3.Camila
I thought “Reputation” would win (just like “Divide”…kind of compensation for its snubs of general field noms.)
Early January : 1. Sweetener 2. Reputation 3. Camila
I realized maybe “Reputation” really got hated by industry/Grammys cuz “Delicate” got nothing, so did last year’s “LWYMMD”(no music video nom). Besides, 1989 just won big few years ago. “Sweetener”,however, got both huge commercial and critical success and it’s the best Ariana album in critics’ opinions. I personally think it’s really nothing outstanding tbh.
Now : 1. Sweetener /Meaning of Life 3.Reputation
The reviews of “Meaning of Life” are as good as “Sweetener”‘s. And actually , it’s the best album among all nominees with so many powerful songs. We all know Kelly Clarkson is loved by Grammys members ,while Ariana relatively isn’t. I doubt those old members will really vote to Sweetener this time.

Reputation is extremely overrated. it was just not a good album. for once, her songwriting was mediocre in a lot of the songs, and the production sounded generic IMO.January 21, 2019 at 3:56 am #1202741559

It IS a good album with so many bops and fresh feelings. Generic production? Lol at least way better than “Shawn Mendes” “Camila””Beautiful Trama”, the other nominees this year.
And don’t abuse the word “overrated” lol….. it merely got 1 Grammys nom ,no VMAs nom ,and 71/100 on Metacritic, which is the lowest score Taylor has got for her albums.

I hope Shawn wins this and Beck wins Pop Solo because this argument is boring af.
With that said, Taylor will probably win this. She would be the name check.January 21, 2019 at 11:32 am #1202742046
The only good songs on Reputation are Delicate, Don’t Blame Me, and Dancing With Our Hands Tied. I Did Something Bad is atrocious.January 21, 2019 at 11:58 am #1202742065
I actually like the lyrics but Taylor needs to stop working with Antonoff or whoever made that horrendous beat. That song would’ve worked with another instrumental.January 21, 2019 at 12:09 pm #1202742073
Getaway Car, New Year’s Day and Delicate are the best songs on reputation lyric wise. By farJanuary 21, 2019 at 12:15 pm #1202742083
jack antonoff is great when he works with the right person, the man produced melodrama and masseduction for god’s sake, miss swift wasn’t in the right head space when she did reputation and it showed
