Who will win the 2017 Grammy for Urban Contemporary Album?
ReplyDecember 14, 2016 at 9:37 am #1201969450Lemonade should and will win here.
Anti is a threat, but I don’t think it’s as big of a threat as many people here think. Pharrell beating Beyoncé two years back was a head scratcher at first because GIRL was such a terrible album and Beyoncé had a great track record in the R&B categories. But in hindsight, it makes sense because Pharrell was up for AOTY, had residual love from the year before and had “Happy” throughout that entire period.
Snubbing Beyoncé again for her most acclaimed album yet and for an album that has gotten so much media coverage would be just too odd.
I’m predicting Beyoncé here, and she deserves to win.

Rihanna is Beyoncé’s biggest competition. Anti did not have the same impact as Lemonade. Beyoncé lost this category two years ago. That won’t happen this time. Plus, Bey scored an AOTY nomination.
SHOULD WIN: Beyoncé, Lemonade

WILL WIN: Beyoncé, LemonadeDecember 15, 2016 at 1:13 am #1201970068Beyonce should be a lock, but we said that about her self-titled and we know what happened there. Still, I think Beyonce will bring home the gold.

lol oh so i see you have no problem with Beyonce winning urban/r&B category but when it comes to the pop/general field, then you don’t want her to win, hmmm I wonder why?

Yea, but that time there was another AOTY nominee in the category with her, and that’s who she lost to. That’s not the case this year.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 19, 2016 at 8:42 am #1201972074It’s Beyoncé vs Rihanna. I think Rihanna has a chance, because the album is nominated across the R&B field, unlike Lemonade, and also has pop songs, including “Work”, which was a hit and it’s nominated for ROTY.

Anyway, Beyoncé is winning this, I want to know if they will present it in the main telecast.December 21, 2016 at 10:46 am #1201973216Lemonade is the obvious frontrunner since it’s nominated for AOTY while Anti isn’t. The latter could still upset but it’s highly unlikely.
Beyoncé should and will win.

A real big question is whether voters in general field and RnB/Urban field is the same voters or not, because we can see not a single song in Lemonade is nominated in RnB field.
Should Win : Beyonce, Lemonade
Will Win : Beyonce, Lemonade
