It wouldn’t have been able to compete in BPVA with the amount of R&B-derived production the majority of the tracks had.
The reason why she (and many other talented and more deserving artists on other categories) lost that year is because the Recording Academy adores Pharrell Williams.FYC: 64th Annual GRAMMY AwardsReplyCopy URLBillie Eilish: Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Pop Vocal Album

Ikr “G I R L” is trash compared to “Beyoncé” in every imaginable way.
Also how a live version of “Happy” won Pop Solo Performance over Sia’s “Chandelier” is not only one of the top craziest Grammy decisions of all time, but it just adds to how obvious it is that the academy loves him.FYC: 64th Annual GRAMMY AwardsReplyCopy URLBillie Eilish: Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Pop Vocal Album

April 11, 2021 at 7:29 pm #1204194869Honey, Beyoncé should’ve won Album of the Year in 2015 over that crappy Beck album. The end-all-be-all Metacritic supports that.
ReplyCopy URLApril 11, 2021 at 8:01 pm #1204194918I feel like people should have been more upset about Pharrell beating Beyoncé in Urban Contemporary than Beck beating Beyoncé in AOTY that year, but of course, that didn’t fit the obvious narrative/agenda pushed at the time.

independent women losing song for visual media to randy newman is painful but expected, beautiful liar and telephone deserved pop collab.
