According to HDD, ‘Bad Guy’ could dethrone ‘Old Town Road’ this Monday. http://m.hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=317581

I kinda want OTR to get to 20 weeks (it being stopped at 19 weeks would just bother me) but I’m glad that someone else can finally reach the top spot. Bad Guy has been absolutely massive and it’s good to see that its success could be topped off with a #1.

I think her team should have started their social media push earlier in the week. Then it’d probably be all but guaranteed (although they may not have known it would be such a close race).

In any case, OTR is very likely to be dethroned by next Monday at the latest it seems.

The whole week Billies fanbase has been doing Playlist streaming parties AND the single cassette bundle has already sold out in just a few hours. idk how much those would count towards sales but there were only 500 (?) available. Its pretty likely that it’ll get #1 which is good because with Taylor and the VMAs coming up it probably wont be #1 for that long.

I think if Bad Guy takes the #1 this week it doesn’t get it next week. Señorita’s momentum is too strong – it’s getting a lot of callouts and remains near the top of the streams both on youtube and spotify

Bad Guy won’t go #1 this week. I don’t mind as that means it will tie, and potentially beat the record for most weeks at #2 without reaching #1. I’ve always wanted someone to break it.

Señorita is definitely going to go #1 for the next tracking week. It just passed Bad Guy and Truth Hurts on radio, and its still gaining. Love that for them!

Yep it looks like Old Town Road is officially taking a 20th week. Expected point totals are below, and there’s no way “Senorita” doesn’t pass up “Bad Guy” in a week, if not this week. “Senorita” looks very likely to be our next #1 at this point, with “Truth Hurts” likely to rise up to #2 within a couple weeks.

    Old Town Road – 350
    Bad Guy – 311
    Senorita – 309
    Truth Hurts – 294
    Talk – 263
    No Guidance – 261
    I Don’t Care – 252
    Ransom – 215
    Goodbyes – 214
    If I Can’t Have You – 194
    Hot Girl Summer – 192
    Sucker – 191

No clue – these aren’t final point totals, just predictions, but still, they are generally very close to accurate, and with that big of a gap, it doesn’t seem there’s been any late push for “Bad Guy” at all. No idea what the HDD article is even referring to; it may just be a way to create a “story” when there isn’t really a close race yet.

Someone on Popcrave’s comments had a good point on why Bad Guy could get #1. The late push was adding vinyl/cassette bundle on her merch store and discounting the single on Amazon. Simon (the one who makes the predictions charts) only included streaming/radio numbers and not the all the purchases which is more important than streaming. These were available on Wednesday and the streaming week ends Thursday nights. So, most likely the push in sales came from people actually purchasing and not streaming and its likely that these numbers haven’t been included yet, especially since HDD said that this will likely change on MONDAYS charts. and the cassette bundle is totally sold out on her website.

    unless this is wrong lol.

Simon doesn’t count physical copies since there are no charts/indicators of how those are going, so it’s possible it’s sales will be a bit more. That said, I doubt they are enough to catch up with Old Town Road.

If BG was going to dethrone OTR this week, Billboard would’ve written an article on it by now.

The YouTube streams for OTR will probably be enough to secure a 20th week at #1.

Radio I’m assuming. OTR isn’t even top 30 overall anymore.
