The public who listen to radio don’t want to hear “Shallow”. The song has had terrible radio call outs!

First, it did not have terrible call outs. But it did have average ones, nothing superb. Look at Electricity, it ranks at the very last on the list, and yet, it was still able to go Top 15. Look at Sunflower, it has average call outs, similar to Shallow, and it’s going to hit #1 on Pop without a question. This is because its sales and streaming is stellar (and to extent with Post Malone being huge right now). Shallow has great sales and its streaming is not awful. In fact, it outperforms Electricity in ALL metrics except for radio. So, why did Pop drop it before it even went Top 20? There are several other examples I could compare it to, but I’ll bite my tongue for now.

I think Mediabase Call Outs are flawed. Just take basically every female song on Country. I cannot remember an instance when one of them was in the Top 10 on callouts (besides from Rich by Maren). Tell me how fair that is when  Country never gives female vocalists a chance to be played more than just Top 30/40? I’d really like to know how Mediabase gather their data for their call outs and if they could improve their system.

This is absolutely insane. Congrats Ariana.

Is she the first artist to get the whole top 3?

    answered my own question: No

The Beatles had the whole top 5 in 1964. She is the first since.

BB100 became irrelevant. Release an album when no one else is releasing and enjoy a bunch of #1s…

Just look at the TOP10, some songs are 7 months old lol….

I wonder why the public doesn’t want to hear it, yet buys it and streams a lot… Hmm makes me think.

Is that why Beyoncé’s “Hold Up” and “Sorry” were not played by the radios too?

I mean Shallow is not exactly radio friendly. It’s a live song after all, and doesn’t fit well in what music sounds like today. It’s too original.

But nevertheless, radios do have a huge bias against women over the age of 30. They rarely get any radio play.

Glad that Shallow is having all the success without radio support. It goes to show that you don’t need them anymore.

If it’s so easy, why is every artist not debuting at #1 then? You’re doing way too much to undermine Ariana’s recent success.

Because who’s releasing now? No one of importance.

    Just Ariana.

So when Lady Gaga releases a new album can we expect a bunch of #1s?
