Described as a “musical film and visual album” directed, written, and executive produced by American singer-songwriter Beyoncé. The film serves as a companion to the 2019 album “The Lion King: The Gift,” a tie-in album curated by Beyoncé for the 2019 remake of “The Lion King.”

Beyoncé keeps releasing the same visual album over and over again. I wonder whose concepts/ideas she stole for this “musical film and visual album.” Beyoncé lacks originality.
ReplyCopy URLAugust 4, 2020 at 10:24 am #1203626243It is a visual feast, as described by The Guardian. This was an incredible celebration of Black people, of African people. Beyoncé clearly did her homework and chose the most talented cohort of African creatives to work with. It’s a great retelling of The Lion King, for Bey the music is interesting to say the least and the visuals are so aesthetically pleasing, you simply can not take your eyes off anything. There were moments of intense gravity (Otherside, Spirit), of levity (Mood 4 Eva), free spirited fun (Water) and heartfelt tearjerkers (Brown Skin Girl).
I hope she continues doing visual albums. She’s clearly good at it!
ReplyCopy URLAugust 4, 2020 at 2:43 pm #1203626796BLACK IS KING was the most airheaded Beyoncé project to date. It was pathetically pointless IMO and a glorified waste of money. She also seems to have ticked off a lot of Africans but what doesn’t get at least 500 people ticked off these days?
On a positive note, it was BEAUTIFULLY shot and had such nice visuals.
ReplyCopy URLAugust 4, 2020 at 3:09 pm #1203626837I agree that it was a bit of a wasted project. Luckily for her payed by Disney. It’s not like anyone really cares for Beyoncé her filmmaking if it’s not attached to a hyped album. But it did look beautiful and something no other popgirl could or would even try to pull off.
