Harry is absolutely deserving of a win. He was unfortunate that Fine Line hadn’t yet really hit it big in time for last year’s voting period and as such, didn’t really have a chance against other celebrated projects.

And to be honest, the BRITs are in need of some star power this year.  With COVID likely keeping many international artists at bay (presuming they want a live show, which isn’t guaranteed,) they need big name domestic artists to keep the ratings solid. Dua is great, but she needs company and it wouldn’t be any easy task to convince the likes of Lewis Capaldi/Stormzy/Ed Sheeran/Harry to all perform if the only thing they’re eligible for is British Song (which obviously they can’t all win at the same time.)

Just look at what the top 10 biggest albums in the UK were last year.

    1 – Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent/LEWIS CAPALDI
    2 – Fine Line/HARRY STYLES
    3 – Future Nostalgia/DUA LIPA*
4 – When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go/BILLIE EILISH
    5 – Heavy is the Head/STORMZY
6 – Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon/POP SMOKE
    7 – NO 6 Collaborations Project/ED SHEERAN
    8 – Greatest Hits/QUEEN
    9 – Diamonds/ELTON JOHN
    10 – 50 Years- Don’t Stop/FLEETWOOD MAC

Loads of British talent, but unless I’m mistaken, Dua is the only one eligible for British Album of the Year.

No disrespect meant to the other artists, of course, as there is plenty of deserving talent out there

Is there a rule stopping him from getting an AOTY nom again since it’s technically within the eligibility window anyway? I mean the album literally peaked this year but idk if I should include him in the predictions

I dont think there is a rule, but Fine Line was already nominated, but we will see.

who are the contenders for british group? i’ve seen a few people naming LM as winners but i find it hard to imagine given how girl groups have never won including LM in their absolute peak

The 1975 will probably win if Little Mix don’t, the Brits love them. I don’t think their latest album was very good though.

Best International Group was reinstated, by the way. Some journalists confirmed this weekend.

What’s up with these International categories? let everyone compete in same categories like AMAs do.

    ???

everyone can compete together at the AMAs because the majority of nominated artists there are american anyway. if the brits did the same it would be a british award show with americans nominated who won’t even turn up to the ceremony. the brits is a chance to celebrate british artists exclusively who are often overlooked in america, the brits often reward smaller, independent british artists which the AMAs would never
