Expect One Kiss to win Song of the Year and Calvin to win male artist. Ariana and Drake are probably winning International artist. George Ezra will take home something, probably Album of The Year.

Bjork and St Vicent and no Camila? No Dua Lipa in female artist? No way!

Take a look at the past winners and nominees, there is a reasonable mix of acclaimed artists and sales success. Bjork is a four times winner, so most people would think she has a strong chance of nomination.

I’m not sure about Dua in British Female as she was a 2 x winner in 2018, but this time she might not have done enough during the eligibility period.

Camila had a number 1 hit, NBTS was top 10 while the others a nothing.

Dua has the song with most time at number 1 by a female with One Kiss (or something like that).

Would Wolf Alice get a nod, I mean are they eligible this year, they have hit the charts again with singles after all?

I’m not sure about Dua, but with International Female (and International Male) solo artist, it’s not like the Grammys where there is a separate category for each genre.

From past experience we should expect the nominees to include:

    1 (or more) pop artist
    1 (or more) urban artist
    1 (or more) alternative/rock/acclaimed artist

Plus we would expect at least one female artist from outside of North America.

    Possible locks would be:

    Pop – Ariana
    Urban – Cardi B

The alternative/acclaimed artist slot is more difficult to pick, but it’s worth noting that the Q awards shortlist just came out and St Vincent, Janelle Monae and Christine & The Queens all made the list.

Perhaps Camila has a chance as a second pop nomination, even if Havana might have been released before the beginning of the nomination period, but Taylor is a 3 x nominee with huge Reputation sales on her side and the BRITs love Kylie Minogue (2 wins and 9 nominations) and her album ‘Golden’ went #1 in the UK. Kylie would also fill the “outside of North America” slot.

St. Vincent will be snubbed. A mainstream act will replace it.

I think St. Vincent is 80% guaranteed to be nominated, so was nominated the last time she was eligible and as already pointed out she got nominated at the Q Awards so the British music industry/press obviously like her. The only thing doubting me about her is the fact all of the above could easily apply to Björk as well.
