I thought it was a decent album, honestly. Not anything mind-blowing, but it did its job.

overlooking her exhaustingly nasal and tense soprano it is really a garden full of sonic delights. is it yet another luxuriously packaged “concept” album that turns out to be a mere collection of songs? unfortunately yes. would I be willing to revisit more than half of these songs? also yes.

Camila’s vocal performance in Living Proof was so bad. Her falsetto’s in it sounded terrible. Her vocals were also very processed. Literally McDonalds music. I don’t think I stan her anymore tbh..

Well obviously. I dont understand how she thinks all that vocal processing sounds organic. It makes her sound very robotic. I’d be fine if she did it with less processed vocals. But that’s the way she sings so… Nothing is gonna change that.

The songwriting on the album was fine, the vocals were fine but could’ve done without the curtain of autotune. The production is the only issue for me. The album doesn’t sound cohesive in terms if sound. Sounds like a bunch of songs mashed together to create a concept album but it lacks the product to make it feel cohesive. Some of the songs sound drastically different in terms of production quality. I personally feel like she used too many producers, unlike her debut album were there were only 2. She also didn’t have an executive producer to make the album “go together”. Having an executive producer is very important.

Some of the songs are very overproduced like Liar, Shameless, Living Proof, and Cry for Me. Her voice gets washed out with all the vocal processing combined with the overproduced instrumental. Like a bunch of noise.

Best Songs were Shameless, Cry For Me, My Oh My, Seniorita, and First Man.

Have a great day if you see this!

Used to this is, in my opinion, camila at her best. Genuinely. The first time I heard the song I thought okay great pop tune w pretty lyrics but on a few more listens the nuances, her vocals and the story shine so much! Finneas is so good! The car horns, the glass clink when she mentions tequila… I feel like I can inagine the whole scene in San Francisco and she makes you feel the anxiety ridden excitement of going from friends to lovers with someone. Bad kind of butterflies should’ve said it this love and first man are stand outs as well. I’m surprised to see critics not like it. She took some risks and it’s ten times better than her debut.

honestly I can’t believe this song is even on the album. I watched her preform it live and it’s fine. Her vocals, not drastically auto tuned, are so much nicer. Whoever producer that song should be fired.

For some reason the critics are NOT living for her new transition with this album. I’m baffled at the mixed reviews. The album is definetly a positive addition to her discography

totally agree. Also something weird I noticed was the lowkey judgement and mocking of her personal life in some of the reviews. Like don’t get me wrong her and Shawn are extra and they made their bed in the media … BUT I was disgusted by the critics being so u professional in that sense like review her damn album and stop judging her for something that doesn’t have anything to do with her music. Also… I’m not one to get caught up in the personal lives of celebs but I have to admit the tea spilled on this album (bad kind of butterflies, shouldve said it etc) made me laugh. She said y’all thought all this was fake ? Please…

The critics are letting their personal biases about Camila’s personal life cloud their judgment on the music. They can’t even give objective reviewd without bringing Mendes up every five minutes. Fucking ridiculous. Half the album aint even about him.
