Though Lorde’s MPG days are far behind her, it’s too soon to declare Solar Power a career ender. She’s young and has a stable fan base, she can still bounce back. I honestly still have faith in her. PH and Melodrama are insanely good albums. She’s still 2/3.

I actually like “Bionic”, but yeah… “Bionic”. And “Witness”, obviously.

Honey, get real!  Lorde’s Solar Power ended her career.  If you want to be technical, Lorde’s career truly ended with Melodrama.  Let’s NOT get delusional.

Lorde is a talented artist but her commercial peak was with Pure Heroine. She’ll continue to have critical success. But I doubt much else in the future. Pop fans are very fickle & have already moved on to the Olivia Rodrigo’s of the world. It also hurts to take too much time off in between albums. People lose interest.

    Ashanti, Concrete Rose
    Selena Gomez, Rare
    Jennifer Lopez, Rebirth
    Lorde, Melodrama or Solar Power
    Nicki Minaj, Queen

Todd also has a trainwreckord video about that album. Mr. Roboto was very catchy and kind of a career suicide.

I got you stuck in the realness

I’m not even a Lorde fan, but it’s silly to say her career is “over”. Lorde was never destined to stay a big mainstream pop artist. Her vocals and the time she takes between albums won’t allow that. But she still has a solid fan base and solid interests in her music. She’s definitely gonna need to come harder on her next project, whenever that comes. If Lorde had actually spend multiple albums being a big selling artist with obvious commercial ambitions then maybe some points would have been made.

Justin Timberlake, Man of the Woods…….I’d prefer not to remember I purchased that one. Two good songs then all crap

At least Britney came back with quality on Glory. Witness is truly Katy’s best work :(. Sad her career went downhill

Glory did better than Britney Jean, so there was a bounce back. I think a career ending album causes each subsequent release to go down. Glory was a mark up in both quality & commercial and critical success. ARTPOP was most definitely not a flop as it is 2x Platinum eligible and has a 4x Platinum single and Gaga has won numerous records and accolades since then. For Britney we have to see how she does commercially in the future but even then I would attribute decline to the large break due to the conservorship. Other career ending albums are:

    1. Dancing With the Devil

    2. Man of the Woods

    3. Bionic

    4. Witness

    5. Double Dutchess

    6. Everything Chris Brown released post 2008

It should be known that commercial decline is not flopping and one lower selling album does mean career ending. Such logic would mean that 30, 4, Artpop were all career ending which they aren’t.

One album that SHOULD have been career ending was Changes.

Remind me why people disliked Witness (the only thing that comes to mind is the poor reception of the Singles because of its childish tone).

About Changes… Yeah, the bad thing (for us) about still being someone young with sex appeal despite the musical quality.

    Hi.

Chris Brown has been able to garner success after post 2008. He actually won his first Grammy back in 2012.

    • Carrie Underwood – Cry Pretty
    • Post Malone – 24K Toothache
    • Miley Cyrus – Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz

    Notice a pattern below?

    • Sam Smith – Love Goes
    • Meghan Trainor – Treat Myself
    • Chance The Rapper – The Big Day
    • Alessia Cara – The Pains of Growing

I hope Traumazine doesn’t go here, I think Megan just released a throwaway album just to end her contract sooner.
