Bowie won Best MV for Jazzin’ for Blue Jean in 1985. He posthumously won 4 grammys for Blackstar in 2017. In between he was inducted in Hall of fame & given Lifetime achievement Grammy. But most of his discography (which consists 27 studio albums 11 live albums, 51 compilation albums) remains snubbed by fraudmys, who are much smaller than Mr Bowie himself. Is it embarrassing for them & makes them lack credibility and look fraudulent?

David Bowie is a legend. I really look up towards him and think he is one of the best artists of all time.

There are many legends that have gone without Grammys. Some without nominations. Bowie was actually a Grammy winner before he died, so he wasn’t completely without recognition like some legends.

2 fraudmys are not enough for someone of Bowie’s caliber. He is arguably the Top 3 greatest artist in history of music and this is embarrassing!

You are giving the Grammys way too much value. I mean, Adele won AOTY twice. That says a lot already.

The only non-depressing thing about looking through Bowie’s Grammy wins and losses is that “Blue Jean” (one of his most underrated ’80s songs IMO) won something. Otherwise, though, this is all a DAMN SHAME…

I’m also pretty shocked that he didn’t win Rock Male despite being nominated 6 times. And I’m even more shocked that it wasn’t just because he was going against Lenny Kravitz during the four consecutive years he won somehow (I like Lenny, but come on now…).

Oh, and how did he win nothing during the Next Day era??? I was just listening to that album a few days ago (for the first time after a few years) and it was really deserving of some award-show love.

You’re right – grammys have not much value

    Thanks for replies

I feel ashamed I compared a small  institution like grammy to Bowie. Im trying to figure out how 2 delete this thread 💀
I think his estate should set up The Bowie’s – an award show that’s prestigious and huge, something fraudmys lack

    Blackstar should have won AOTY.

Almost all of Bowie’s best albums were from the 1970’s.

Just take a look at any ranked list of Bowie albums, with ‘Station to Station’, ‘Low’, ‘Heroes’, ’The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’ and ’Hunky Dory’ always near the top of the list.

Difficult to win when you don’t get nominated for your best work.
