The Micky Mouse trio (and lowkey Ariana) didn’t have their Disney-ness affect their chances, by the time they debuted as musicians they weren’t associated with Disney as much, it was more funfact to share on press junkets. It didn’t affected their Grammy chances since they all got nominated (and some won) on their debut eras.

Whereas Miley & Demi were full on associated with their Disney projects, to the point where the former’s debut album was literally called “Meet Miley Cyrus”. Miley didn’t shake off the Disney (despite the astronomical commercial success) until after she retired from music at 18 and had a era defining comeback at 21 (Bangerz).

Same with Demi but on a different scale, she only had a DCOM instead of a series, went into music straight away with a more “credible” sound, had her personal issues then had to build the hits for 5 years until the Grammys finally took her serious.

Circling back to Ariana, how many people over 20 even knew Victorious existed while it was airing? And even then, how many people knew about the redhead sidekick with a whistle tone? The fact she got Grammys attention almost immediately says a lot (I’m counting YT+ME as one era, since Problem was released only 3 months after Baby I).

The Jonas Brothers kinda fall into the that Ariana slot since they weren’t the lead and were more credible musicians since they were an actual band before Camp Rock.

I don’t think the disney connection hurts grammy chances. iirc Jonas brothers were still on disney when they were nominated for BNA.

Christina should have way more Grammys. The Stripped era was under awarded. It deserved BPVA & SOTY in addition to BFPVP. And why no BMV nomination for “Beautiful”?

I don’t think it hurts her chances at all. If anything, the ones affected the most were artists whose musical growth was stifled by the fact that they were signed to Hollywood records which restricted the audiences those artists could target to younger ones. I’m talking about Demi, Miley and Selena specifically as they still have 0 Grammys, though since their departure from Hollywood Demi and Miley have gone on to get nominated for BPVA.

None of that applies here though. Olivia is signed to Interscope, a label which allows for artists to basically do whatever they want. Plus, seeing as how Interscope managed to give Billie Eilish a very succesful headstart in her career, Olivia’s chances are probably the best they can be.

FYC | Best music this season:

Arlo Parks - Collapsed In Sunbeams
    St. Vincent - Daddy's Home
    Jazmine Sullivan - Heaux Tales
Tyler, The Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost
    Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend

Honey, Christina Aguilera has 6 Grammys. Unless, her Latin Grammy is NOT counted.

Xtina has definitely been underawarded. One thing for sure and two things for certain, no one can say that the bitch did NOT deserve all 6 of her Grammys.

Demi actually had a series (Sonny With a Chance) along with the Camp Rock series and Princess Protection Program

Sarah McLachlan “I Will Remember You (Live)” – WINNER
Christina Aguilera — “Genie in a Bottle”
    Madonna — “Beautiful Stranger”
    Alanis Morissette — “Thank U”
Britney Spears — “…Baby One More Time”

I remember predictions were for Sarah McLachlan to win this catgeory with a few mentions for Madonna.
