I wouldn’t be surprised if Dua Lipa goes home emptyhanded. She strikes me as a Gwen/Ariana. I do think her SNL performance could garner some voters, but she does face still competition in every category.
I can see a situation where “Circles,” despite the pop solo snub, wins ROTY. This year has been weird all around, so something like this could happen. I think she deserves something.November 25, 2020 at 11:28 am #1203872734
What makes you think that Dua Lipa will go home empty handed?November 25, 2020 at 5:36 pm #1203873657
While all the shoe-gazing critics were making everyone in these forums think Fiona Apple was a shoo-in, only the sharpies realized that Dua Lipa has OWNED this year. She made a brilliant, no-fat album with a killer single, and has been in the driver’s seat since March (just look at the album cover).
Remember how H.E.R. was going to win New Artist, heck, she even had an album of the year nom. WHO WON?
The industry LOVES her and everyone wants to work with her. Tay Tay made the second best album two years in a row.November 25, 2020 at 5:45 pm #1203873690
Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Perf., Best Pop Vocal AlbumNovember 26, 2020 at 2:40 am #1203874390
“Physical” should’ve easily won Music Video. Why TF was that not submitted 🤦🏾♂️November 26, 2020 at 2:54 am #1203874424
If she wins Pop Solo and Pop Album at least . I’ll see her as the AOTY winnerNovember 26, 2020 at 4:47 am #1203874531
Just saw Dua in a YSL comercial bitch is everywhere!!
Congratulations Taylor Swift on 6 Grammy Nominations

Song Written for Visual Media: Beautiful GhostsNovember 26, 2020 at 4:58 am #1203874542
A sweep is probably a reach, but Dua Lipa is competitive in every category she’s in, which maybe the exception of Pop Duo/Group. She’s fighting hard for it, so best of luck to her!November 26, 2020 at 5:51 am #1203874641
Dua is only winning ROTY. they specifically removed cardigan so Taylor wouldn’t beat her in 6 categories. lmao
Dua’s speech after 5 losses is going to close the ceremony.
Record of the Year: Hit Different by SZA ft. Pharrell Williams & co.
Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierNovember 26, 2020 at 1:25 pm #1203875766
Future Nostalgia is a great album. However a “dance” record like this has not won in quite a long time. And folklore’s cross genre appeal with pop/alternative/even country voters may make her an impossible force in the general field. Could Dua sweep the pop categories? Yes she could. But overall I see Taylor forming as the Billie Eilish of this year’s show while Dua is more of the Lizzo (minus R&B field) or Ariana Grande of this show. Would be a shoe in if Taylor was not there but due to folklore’s strength she may walk home almost empty handed.November 26, 2020 at 1:27 pm #1203875776

I wouldn’t say that tbh. folklore is not pure pop so future nostalgia could sweep the pop categories but not have the coalition to win in the general field categories besides ROTY. folklore will have support from many different types of voters like alt, pop, and even country.November 26, 2020 at 1:33 pm #1203875786
I still think both of them will split votes at ROTY, SOTY and AOTY. For now, I have AOTY to Jhene Aiko since she’s black and New Artist to Megan Thee Stallion.
If anything things are pretty evenly distributed. 3 R&B-ish albums, 3 rock/alternative albums, 2 pop albums, and one rap (not really)/pop album. folklore is a genre bending album so I could see it getting some rock/alternative and probably the bulk of country support and obviously pop support. Taylor and Dua seem to be the only people in the race for this award. I’d say Taylor wins it though.November 26, 2020 at 1:41 pm #1203875803
Dua should take ROTY and BPSP. I do see a scenario where she wins BPVA and not AOTY (losing to Taylor who may have less pop appeal but more cross-genre appeal) but either way Dua should be on her way to a couple Grammy’s this year!
Taylor Swift- AOTY, SOTY, Pop Duo/Group Performance, Pop Vocal Album
Phoebe Bridgers- BNA, Rock Song, Rock Performance, Alternative Album
Dua Lipa- ROTY, Pop Solo Performance
Chloe x Halle- Traditional R&B Performance, R&B Song, Progressive R&B Album
