    and best country song.

how will they rule this out?

like are they gonna weigh out the old lyrics vs. new lyrics?

or will they keep it within the Record of the Year/Best Country Solo Performance categories?

If I’m correct, since the parent album of the original did not win any Grammys its eligible. I have a friend at a label that said they’re already pulling stops to help promote it for the 2023 Grammys.

but what i heard is that she can’t submit her rerecorded tracks ASIDE from the vault tracks to the songwriting categories because the lyrics have existed to the world years ago, so like how will this affect All Too Well 10 Mins considering it has old and new lyrics at the same time

Taylor said she won’t submit her re-recordings. She didn’t submit anything from Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

this is a question you could’ve asked in “ Very Early 2023 Grammy Predictions” thread

This has been discussed in other threads. Can anyone find a new entry for the song in recognised songwriting databases?

There appears to be just one entry in ASCAP Repertory for “All Too Well“, showing songwriters Taylor Swift and Liz Rose.

    ISWC: T9126848133
    Work ID: 884655610

This suggests that from a legal/songwriting point of view, it is considered to be the same song as before, just a new interpretation or new performance.

so it’s not eligible for song of the year

Yes you can, but as mentioned earlier, there is already a “Very Early 2023 Grammy Predictions” thread and a “Taylor Swift” thread (currently up to part 23).

In theory we can all post threads asking about songs that *might* be submitted next year, but imagine if BTS fans or some other fanbase did this for each new song their favourite artist released.

Not to mention we get actual spam threads with product links created by bots.

so it’s not eligible for song of the year

Most likely not unless she registers it as a new song and even then it’s not certain if the song would be allowed.

Less than 10 years ago, Gotye wasn’t allowed to submit “Somebody That I Used to Know” into SOTY because it contained a sample.

The rule on samples has been relaxed since then, but it would be interesting to see what the SOTY screening committee would think of someone adding a few verses to a song from an album, that had already been nominated for a AOTY at the 2014 awards.
