The Big day is Saturday, May 18 (the final) but it starts on Tuesday, May 14. It is in Israel this year at Expo Tel Aviv.
How would you rank the songs this year? Favs/Least favs? I’ll post my thoughts on each in a little bit. Have to listen to the last three but I’m only loving like ten of these.

Hasn’t followed this year’s songs closely, but from what I’ve heard, the Netherlands, Sweden and Italy are my favorites.

The Netherlands are currently favourite to win, although this will most likely change when we see the first rehearsals. (Cyprus wasn’t even top 25 this time last year, until rehearsals were released where it then shot up to #1; eventually coming 2nd in the Grand Final).

    Cyprus 2019 is like Cyprus 2018 2.0

Imo this is one of the strongest years this decade.

Can’t tell about decade but it’s the weakest year since 2016.

I am starting to like Great Britain’s song a lot more now. Sticks in your head.

For a country where Adele, Sam Smith, Florence + The Machine, Queen, Ed Sheeran, Elton John  are from, their entries are always underwhelming to me. Maybe because I’d expect more from them.

    This year is no different.

I’m so torn between France and Netherlands. France has a good stage presence while Netherlands song sounds better in the studio version.

Agreed 100%. They have given us so many icons and then when it comes to Eurovision, they kinda seem to not really care.

Yeah, United Kingdom stopped caring about Eurovision after 2000.

To be honest, I expected a better song from Russia. Sergey Lazarev’s 2016 entry was really good, and I still believe that he should have won in that year. “Scream” is a kind of disappointment compared to “You Are The Only One.”

Sergey’s song will be much better live than the studio version (like the majority of ESC ballads).

So today is the big day…..and it’s not on American TV so I can’t really watch (unless its streaming on youtube?). Either way, here is my rankings of the final 27 and my reasoning.

1)Italy: Usually, Italy’s entries make me want to pull my hair out and go “Wrong choice!” BUT this year they have the best one in my opinion since Il Volo was there for the country and they put a lot of thought into this selection so I think it’s Italy’s year.
2)Netherlands: This just screams top 3 finisher to me.
3)Australia: This screams top 3 finisher to me as well but I don’t think it will win.
4)Azerbaijan: This is easily one of the best ones but I don’t think it will win.
    5)Greece: It’s so catchy!
6)Russia: People really love this song. Don’t personally like it BUT this will be easily in the final 10.
7)Sweden: This is a solid song and I think that it’s one of the favorites but at the end of the day, I don’t know if its memorable enough.
8)San Marino: Ditto everything I said for Cyprus and Iceland.
9)Cyprus: Same thing I said for Iceland.
10)Iceland: Going out on a limb here and saying that this will be the one people will either love or really really hate.
11)Albania: This will either do really well or flop really hard.
12)Denmark: They nailed the submission this year….just not going to win.
13)France: Oh France. Love this song but it’s not going to do that well. Call it a gut feeling.
14)Israel: I’m 50/50 here. Great song but honestly a thousand times better than last years and yet I feel like it’s going to lose.
15)Estonia: Yeah. It is what it is.
16)Belarus: This has a very club vibe to it….if the club was for teenagers lol.
    17)Serbia: It’s there. It’s fun. That’s about it.
18)Switzerland: This is a wildcard for me since this guy is a blast to watch but the song seems to be oddly disliked by a lot of people.
19)Malta: Great song with some Dua Lipa vibes. Not gonna win though.
20)United Kingdom: Best song they could find? Better than their last two entries though. Also, Graham Norton be on the ready for when it’s not last since you out of all people will the reaction to watch.
    21)Norway: Nice song. Won’t win.
22)North Macedonia: Forgettable but decent song.
23)Germany: Yeah it is what it is lol. Not going to do great.
24)Czech Republic: Another one that is destined to not do great but will stand out.
25)Finland: No shot in hell to win but I love the song.
26)Slovenia: Yeah it is what it is with this one.
    27)Spain: Love it…it won’t win.

So happy for Netherlands. I was afraid that generic swedish song was going to win.
