What are some of your favorite concerts that you have attended?
One of my favorite concerts was seeing Tina Turner with Cyndi Lauper as the opening act.
Another one was The Isley Brothers and Gladys Knight. Kelly Price sang backup for both of them.

Anyway, I’ve been to a few concerts that were fantastic, but if i had to pick one I’d go with the first time I saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor live.

Also loved The Formation Tour – went to three different dates of that tour.

ReplyCopy URLMay 19, 2020 at 4:26 pm #1203490580I would say the Sugar Water Festival Tour that had Floetry, Queen Latifah, Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu. The first three were great, but Erykah – please do not get me started on her. I will never see her again. They should have had Macy Gray on this tour in place of Erykah Badu.
I love blues music and I saw B.B.King, Dr. John and Shemekia Copeland and Koko Taylor was a surprise guest. This was a fantastic concert. I also got a chance to meet Koko afterwards and she was very nice.

ODESZA — A Moment Apart tour
Passion Pit — Gossamer tour
Gorillaz — Escape to Plastic Beach tour
Brockhampton — I’ll Be There tour
The 1975 — A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships tour
Harry Styles — self-titled album tour
Panic! At the Disco — Pray for the Wicked tour
The Killers — Wonderful, Wonderful tour
Arkells — Morning Report tour
Arctic Monkeys — AM tourI don’t see many big pop acts unless they’re local festival headliners simply because I can’t afford to spend like $200 for nosebleeds in a stadium where the artist is a speck on a jumbotron. Just gonna have to answer to my future children/nieces/nephews as to why I missed out.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 4, 2020 at 5:05 pm #1203566904I agree with you because I just can’t rationalize spending hundreds of dollars on concert tickets when I can get plane tickets for the same price.
I will have to add that Stevie Wonder was amazing in concert.

* Living Colour — 25th anniversary of Vivid (2013; they sounded exactly like the record, still)
* HAIM with opening act Lizzo (2018)
* Lily Allen with Zoe Kravitz’s band as the opening act (2015)

* Patti Labelle at the Kennedy Center (2010 or 2011; it was free, too!)
* La Ley (2014)
* The Smashing Pumpkins (2018; took a train up to Baltimore to see them, but they played a 3-hour set and almost all their most famous songs, so it was worth it)
* Garbage (2015; 20th anniversary of their first album)
* Café Tacuba (I’ve seen them three times so far and I intend to see them again next time they tour over here)Why are you reporting this post? (optional):Not now
