So what are people’s favourite Christmas albums/songs?

I made a list of my 20 favourite Christmas covers (beyond the typical ones):
    http://graemeoneil.com/2013/12/02/the-top-20-christmas-renditions/

And also a list of my 20 favourite Christmas originals:

Some of my favourite albums are: Dave Barnes‘ “Very Merry Christmas”, Sheryl Crow‘s “Home For Christmas”, Faith Hill‘s “Joy To The World”, and the Queen of Christmas, Amy Grant, with her incredible albums, “Home For Christmas”, “A Christmas To Remember”, and “A Christmas Album”. There’s also her “A Christmas Collection”.

I also reviewed Kelly Clarkson‘s “Wrapped In Red” that was released this year:

My most favorite songs where the lyrics are concerned are the following. (smiles)

“Fall Softly Snow”-Jim Ed Brown & Helen Cornelius
    “What Do You See?”-Sonya Isaacs
“Only You Can Bring Me Cheer”-Alison Krauss

My most favorite song where the actual singing and performance is concerned is “Go Tell It On The Mountain” from my most favorite singer James Otto which I learned was done by him just last night. (big smile)

God bless you and him and Jim Ed and Helen and Sonya and Alison always!!!

Holly (a fan of Alison since 1994)

P.S. Oh and that awesome country soul filled rendition of “Go Tell It On The Mountain” is available at Itunes. (smiles)

Go here to check out my most favorite singer James Otto!

I really like the album from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, particularly the Christmas Canon.

    Sufjan Stevens’ Songs for Christmas

All of those songs, covers and originals, are brilliant.

No one does Christmas music like Mariah Carey. All I Want for Christmas is You has been number 1 on the Holiday Charts every year since it was released (I believe), and has never lost that spot (again, I believe). I also really love her versions of “Joy to the World” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”.

I also really like Kellie Pickler’s version of “Santa Baby”, and Kelly Clarkson’s version of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Run Run Rudolph”

I really like Miss You Most from Mariah’s album.

Also, Kelly Clarkson’s Underneath the Tree, Run Run Rudolph, and Winter Dreams demand repeat listens.

    Pentatonix’s Little Drummer Boy.

Classics like Bing Crosby, Brenda Lee, etc obviously,

Not a big fan of Christmas music, but I do love Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson’s “Winter Song.”  It just gets me feeling all sorts of emotional and wintery.

Also, I’m a big fan of The Killers’ Christmas singles  😀

    Pentatonix’s Little Drummer Boy.

This is really getting a lot of attention this year, but I couldn’t help but think of Faith Hill’s a capella version of that which is even better.
