Who is better? (sales, popularity, impact, credibility, etc.)December 25, 2014 at 1:16 pm #407735
3 way tie. All of them represent a specific part of my life, and music history in general. I would personally go with the Beatles overall, but ask me again tomorrow, and I might change my mind.December 25, 2014 at 2:06 pm #407736
The Beatles are grossly overrated.
Elvis Presley simply is the greatest entertainer who ever lived. He had the whole package!

In terms of your criteria, The Beatles are far and away the winner. I don’t love them, or even like them that much, but you cannot deny their unmatched influence and popularity. In less than a decade, they reshaped popular music in nearly every way.December 25, 2014 at 8:40 pm #407738
Sinatra and Elvis had the voice, but The Beatles had the art.December 26, 2014 at 9:31 am #407739
This is tough because I adore all three. Saying that, I think that Sinatra by the thinest of hairsDecember 26, 2014 at 10:06 am #407740
I’m sorry, I know I risk getting a lot of one-star votes for saying this, but I have to be honest, even if I don’t mean disrespect, but… It’s complete bullshit to say Elvis is the greatest while saying The Beatles are overrated. Elvis was immensely popular, but all he did was cultural appropriation. He was not the creative force behind some of his greatest songs, and he overshadowed some great black musicians just because a good looking white guy is much easier to sell than black men who are serious musicians. He was charismatic and had a nice voice, but that’s it. That’s the extent of Elvis whole contribuition to music.
The Beatles, however, are one of the most influential acts of all time. They continously introduced new elements to their sound each new album, they were master craftsmen of melody and arragement, they had groudnbreaking production and mixing… People don’t have to like The Beatles, but they are not overrated, but it’s undeniable the massive part they have played in shaping modern popular music. If The Beatles are overrated, than the whole idea of pop culturre as we know it today is overrated (which you can believe it, but since this is a pop culture forum, it will be hypocritical to do so when we spend so much time discussing it).
That said, going by vocals alone, Frank would be the most talented of this group, but as songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and producers, this is easily The Beatles.December 27, 2014 at 10:05 pm #407741
The Beatles. If you think The Beatles are overrated go do your homework. Read up on some music history and recording techniques and then come back here and adjust your statement.December 27, 2014 at 11:16 pm #407742

Who’s better in your opinion?January 23, 2016 at 3:51 am #407744
That’s quite a diverse trio. It’s like comparing Mao Tse-Tung, Marx, and er…John Lennon.
The Beatles were and are geniuses.January 26, 2016 at 12:39 pm #407745
Michael JacksonJanuary 26, 2016 at 12:44 pm #407746
I was wondering why he was missing. But I will say of these three, Beatles had better music, Elvis was an oustanding performer and Sinatra had the best voice.January 26, 2016 at 1:08 pm #407747
