If Tomorrow 2 keeps up the momentum then I see another Best Rap Performance nomination in Glorilla’s future
November 15, 2022 at 12:26 pm #1205154304Another year of Taylor Swift underperforming in the pop categories. Plus her being rejected in the album categories…
This doesn’t bode well for her, Midnights and Anti-Hero. I’m thinking it’ll be an AOTY + SOTY play at best, but with lack of genre support, she’ll just be filler. Again.

Since getting 4 nominations is underperforming ? a re-recorded Album was a big stretch getting into Album categories, especially one that was already nominated a mere decade ago. Midnights has big pop hits and it won’t be an issue for pop categories.
November 15, 2022 at 12:39 pm #1205154359Yeah Taylor’s not winning her fourth. Voters aren’t here for her like that anymore.
I do think she’ll still get the nominations this time around though.

And none of those nominations were in pop, aka the field where Midnights will compete next year. She submitted to two pop categories and was denied on both occasions. This comes after she was completely shut out last year as well.
And All Too Well wasn’t even an obscure track. It hit #1, had a high-profile performance on SNL, is seen as her magnum opus and had a buzzy short film, yet still failed at pop.
It’s not looking good for Midnights.
November 15, 2022 at 12:42 pm #1205154388came here to say things that have basically been said.
hate me all you want but i midnights is going to need very strong long-term relevance if she’s going to win in the GF. evermore performed poorly and red TV wasn’t as undeniable as some people thought it’d be

Exactly. And if the BRP hadn’t so obviously set up folklore for the AOTY win, Swift’s last Grammy win would’ve been from 2016, almost 7 years ago.
It’s clear that her appeal to Grammy voters has diminished considerably.

taylor has the 2nd most pop vocal album nominations and the tied most pop solo nominations too lets be real. all too well and red tv not getting nominated in the pop categories does not mean she won’t get nominated with midnights. RED TV is a re-recording. Also, even the evermore miss i’m not worried because that was a slow album that’s her weakest commercially. Every pure pop album she submits – 1989, rep, lover gets nominated in the pop categories. Pop voters go for smash hits which is exactly what anti hero is (her biggest solo hit since 1989). Midnights will also have incredible longevity since it’s smashing on streaming services.
Pop is probably her weakest category but she is still strong and midnights is extremely strong enough to bag her nominations at the least.
November 15, 2022 at 12:48 pm #1205154425I have no idea why people were so confident about Red TV getting nominations in the album categories, the only categories Taylor had a shot from the beginning was SOTY and Music Video. The fact that she even got a country song nomination baffles me after being shut out for years and the carolina nomination over songs goldderby were predicting such as just look up over it lmao.
November 15, 2022 at 12:59 pm #1205154463I don’t think Red TV (Album) was ever eligible for the album categories tbh I never thought the album was even allowed to compete for those categories. Since it looks like that this might be the case moving forward, they should adjust accordingly and put their respective efforts and campaigns in focusing on Midnights instead of any of the re-recorded albums.
November 15, 2022 at 1:41 pm #1205154617Midnights is a tepid album with no standouts. She’s keeping Anti Hero at number 1 by releasing a different version every week (five so far) and is getting a well deserved rep for being greedy and playing the system.
November 15, 2022 at 1:49 pm #1205154672rooting for olivia and ice spice tbh, i love love midnights but am tired of taylor always winning
November 15, 2022 at 9:17 pm #1205155528I would say Taylor’s Midnights & Sam’s upcoming Gloria are front runners in the pop field tbh
I will always love you
November 16, 2022 at 12:30 am #1205155709Looking forward to Manuel Turizo’s upcoming album and Rauw Alejandro’s “Saturno” nominated for Best Urbano Album.
Also, Caroline Polachek in the Alternative categories.
And… SZA any and everywhere she submits b/c gurl…

she only released remixes for the third week, the first, second and upcoming fourth week are all orgnaic be for realll for once. jesus christ the hate for tay here is ridiculous. the song has 230M streams on spotify in 3 weeks, thats more than easy on me btw. and that song had the biggest radio push of the decade being added on 7 different formats (AH has 3).
