    Looking forward to Manuel Turizo’s upcoming album and Rauw Alejandro’s “Saturno” nominated for Best Urbano Album.

    SATURNO = Rauw’s best album.

    S.O.S. is giving me “universally acclaimed album listed in the bottom of the ballot everyone wants to see nominated but ends up being snubbed because it lacks crossover appeal”. Remember Heaux Tales & Starting Over? Exactly…

    Well, at least SZA is going to win something in the R&B field!

    oh wow:

    “Midnights is the first album to earn at least 200,000 units in each of its first four weeks of release, since Adele’s 25 saw its first six weeks reach 200,000-plus.”

    wouldn’t atopos not be eligible for the category next time if bjork wins for its album? and based off the odds that seems highly likely. i’d also add spoon to that list with their new album.

    p!nk (a grammy favorite, for being nominated at least) is releasing a new album next year, so watch out for her!

    P!nk missed last time with Hurts 2B Human, so the competition needs to be relatively weak for her to sneak. She was likely involved in the tie for the 5th slot in BPVA in 2019. Not sure whether the other one was Clarkson, Mendes or Swift, but Cabello was definitely Grande’s runner-up in the first round.

    People say it’s too soon for Taylor to win a 4th AOTY, but they also said that about her 3rd AOTY. If ANYONE is gonna win a 4th AOTY Grammy, it’ll be Taylor. Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, or Paul Simon are not winning a 4th Album of the Year Grammy. Taylor Swift is the biggest artist of the 21st century. She’s over 16 years into her career and still absolutely KILLING it. Midnights, her 10th studio album, had her highest debut ever. Quite possibly the last 1M+ debut. A month later and is still doing 200K weekly. A #1 single going on its 5th week at #1. 10 top 10 hits, all of which charted at the same time, the first for any artist in history. All 13 tracks are still charting for a fifth week, the first for any album. An 85 on Metacritic. Streaming records broken for biggest streaming day for an album in the US, biggest streaming day for an album globally, and biggest streaming day for an artist in history. If this were any other artist, y’all would already deem them the winner. Either no artist will ever surpass 3 AOTY wins, or Taylor will do it with Midnights. Sure there could be another Jon Batiste situation, but the “she’s already won 3” excuse isn’t that strong. If any artist is gonna win a 4th AOTY, it’s Taylor, and Midnights’ accomplishments are insane. There’s a lot of time for more big albums to come out, but none are going to accomplish what Midnights did. You can hate her all you want, but she is the biggest artist of this century. And an AOTY win would be more than deserving.

    midnights received more success than folklore, but it didn’t really receive the same acclaim. i feel like there’s gonna be some taylor fatigue next year, like how we’ve already seen the last 2 years

    Swift, Rihanna, Grande, Dua, Olivia, Doja, Billie and possibly Gaga & Bieber will all likely be in contention. Dua & Doja could be entering their imperial phases.

    Personally, I wish Grande would make a grounded album that exhaustively demonstrates her vocals. I need shouting, screaming, wailing, howling, growling, whistling. That’s my shit. Voters obviously like her, just not her materials.

    Yeah, you said that for 1989 and folklore and look what happened. Worry about Christina’s nonexistent career.

    Her popularity has grown even more since folklore. Did you see the bloodbath that was getting tickets for the Eras Tour? The truth is, if any artist is ever gonna win a 4th AOTY, it’s Taylor. Her longevity is insane. Had Midnights underperformed, talk of a 4th AOTY wouldn’t even be a discussion. But it’s the biggest album since AOTY winner 25.
