Did you not see that coming? It happened with Herbie Hancock, Beck, Esperanza Spalding, H.E.R., etc. The faster people on social media realize that the industry =/= delusional stans who spam and vote with 10 emails, the better off they’ll be.

Here’s my POV: Adele and Bruno Mars are not “grammy darlings” they both take a great deal of time off in between projects, to put out top tier quality music, this ofc builds up high anticipation. Leading to massive success. Thus resulting in grammy sweeps.

I have to say that as someone who’s been less active this season, Gaga was way overestimated. And it was only on Golderby. I mean people expecting her to win BMV, Best Pop Duo/GP and ROTY?

The only reasonable prediction was AOTY based on narrative. Everything else was just crazy exaggeration of her chances. And once again, the Grammy’s showed they don’t give a damn about narratives when it comes to the wins.

Sounds like he’s trying to make them more than just “Grammy darlings.” Lol They are still Grammy darlings, regardless of that stuff he’s talking.

Honey, a flop has NOT won Album of the Year since before 2010 (the year the Grammys went super commercial).  No one predicted Jon Batiste to be nominated for Album of the Year.  Let alone win it.

They only want their favorite pop girls to win.
Look at Gaga stans for example. Do you think they would care about Tony’s album if the duet was with another artist? They would be saying that the album is “unknown” and a flop too lol.
