Gaga and BTS were my fav performances but overall a great show
ReplyCopy URLApril 4, 2022 at 7:21 am #1204903344It’s so funny seeing people complaining about Jon winning AOTY because he’s “unknown” and because it sold nothing compared to the pop girls nominated, yet they’re the same people that say Ed Sheeran only won in 2018 because of his sales. Make it make sense.
Did you not see that coming? It happened with Herbie Hancock, Beck, Esperanza Spalding, H.E.R., etc. The faster people on social media realize that the industry =/= delusional stans who spam and vote with 10 emails, the better off they’ll be.
ReplyCopy URLApril 4, 2022 at 7:30 am #1204903354Here’s my POV: Adele and Bruno Mars are not “grammy darlings” they both take a great deal of time off in between projects, to put out top tier quality music, this ofc builds up high anticipation. Leading to massive success. Thus resulting in grammy sweeps.

ReplyCopy URLApril 4, 2022 at 8:16 am #1204903412It’s been almost a day and I still don’t understand how Tyler won.
His album was the most acclaimed, and he could have had a ton of passion. I knew Donda wasn’t a lock. That album is way too divisive to be out that competition.
ReplyCopy URLApril 4, 2022 at 8:18 am #1204903422Didn’t ADELE win in 2013 with a live version of SFTTR over Call Me Maybe, Stronger, & Wide Awake. That’s definitely Grammy Darling status
ReplyCopy URLApril 4, 2022 at 8:19 am #1204903425I have to say that as someone who’s been less active this season, Gaga was way overestimated. And it was only on Golderby. I mean people expecting her to win BMV, Best Pop Duo/GP and ROTY?
The only reasonable prediction was AOTY based on narrative. Everything else was just crazy exaggeration of her chances. And once again, the Grammy’s showed they don’t give a damn about narratives when it comes to the wins.

Sounds like he’s trying to make them more than just “Grammy darlings.” Lol They are still Grammy darlings, regardless of that stuff he’s talking.
ReplyCopy URLApril 4, 2022 at 8:48 am #1204903480Honey, a flop has NOT won Album of the Year since before 2010 (the year the Grammys went super commercial). No one predicted Jon Batiste to be nominated for Album of the Year. Let alone win it.
ReplyCopy URLApril 4, 2022 at 9:27 am #1204903544All that Tony/Gaga narrative talk for 5 months only to get in the end the usual Traditional Pop Album win expected for a Tony album lol.

They only want their favorite pop girls to win.

Look at Gaga stans for example. Do you think they would care about Tony’s album if the duet was with another artist? They would be saying that the album is “unknown” and a flop too lol.April 4, 2022 at 9:49 am #1204903588Honey, a flop has NOT won Album of the Year since before 2010 (the year the Grammys went super commercial). I would very much like to be excused from this narrative.
ReplyCopy URLApril 4, 2022 at 9:56 am #1204903613ok but HOW did you get the odds to be 100/1, did you vote as soon as the prediction center for the grammys were out

Beck’s album was no commercial success.
