Thats part of the reason why the Grammys have been woefully out of touch when it comes to the Hip Hop/R&B categories. If they don’t screw over Kendrick in 2014 then they wouldn’t have had to feel such pressure to award him in 2015. They dropped THE BALL in 2014. Its been going on for a minute. Just wait and see how they fall over themselves to award The Weeknd in 2023 or whenever his next album comes out to make up for this year.

Those Ludacris wins from 2007 are a fucking joke, especially when you consider the fact that albums like Food & Liquor and King and songs like “What You Know”, “Ridin” and “Kick, Push” were nominated. I would have voted for Lupe in Rap Album and T.I. in Rap Song.

Yep, this should have been an easy first win for Snoop, with only “Lean Back” as the spoiler. I really hate when non-rap voters touch this field because that’s clearly what happened here.

I agree with this winner. Numb/Encore is a reason why I wish this category existed in the 80s so that Walk This Way by Run DMC & Aerosmith could have won this award.

Interesting that Jay Z won over Beyonce in this category.
