For all of the Rock and Alternative fans out there, what are your opinions of these categories at the Grammys?

Specially, what are your opinions on the nominees and winners through out the history of the Rock/Alternative field?

    Rock Album
    Alternative Music Album
    Rock Song
    Metal Performance
    Rock Performance

Past ones: Rock Performance by a Duo or Group, Female Rock Vocal Performance, Male Rock Vocal Performance, Hard Rock Performance, etc. Thoughts?

I think Fiona should have won Female Rock Vocal for “Paper Bag” in 2000 over the live version of “There Goes the Neighborhood”.

The new Rock commitee is the best thing that happened!

In the past nominees were almost the same every year.

    Rock Male 1985

Bruce Springsteen “Dancing in the Dark” – WINNER
    David Bowie – “Blue Jean”
    Billy Idol – “Rebel Yell”
    Elton John – “Restless”
John Cougar Mellencamp – “Pink Houses”

Rebel Yell by Billy Idol would be my pick

    1986 Rock Male

Don Henley “The Boys of Summer”- Winner
    Bryan Adams – Reckless
    John Fogerty – Centerfield
Mick Jagger – “Just Another Night”
    John Cougar Mellencamp – Scarecrow

I would have picked the Reckless album by Bryan Adams which had the singles Run To You, Summer of 69, Somebody, It’s Only Love w/Tina Turner, and Heaven.
