Here are my choices of who is going to be nominated and who will win.

    1. TobyMac: The Elements

    2. Skillet: Victorious

    3. Newsboys United

    4. Switchfoot: Native Tongue

    5. For King & Country: burn the ships

I think Victorious is an easy contender to be nominated, but I think The Elements by TobyMac is going to win.

I don’t really follow Christian music, but no Hillsong?

Hillsong has terrible Grammy history. Hillsong UNITED has no noms despite having some of the biggest Christian songs of all time, Hillsong Worship only has 1 nom (which they won), and Hillsong Y&F also has 1 nom.

It’s been 12 years since Skillet has gotten a nomination, 7 years since Switchfoot, and 16 since Newsboys got in. Neither of their newest albums made enough buzz to get in.

TobyMac is the obvious frontrunner since he’s won this category multiple times before and his album did well. I Just Need U’s success helps tremendously. Still, FK&C and Danny Gokey are having a tremendous year, so they could win as well.

Would love for a Hillsong nom (and it could happen since the Grammys have been opening up to them) but I doubt it.

    Predicted lineup
    1. The Elements by TobyMac
    2. Paradoxology by Elevation Worship
    3. Haven’t Seen it Yet by Danny Gokey
    4. Holy Roar by Chris Tomlin
    5. Burn the Ships by for KING & COUNTRY

    And while we’re at it:

    Best Contemporary Christian Song/Performance

    1. God Only Knows by for KING & COUNTRY
    2. Symphony by SWITCH featuring Dillon Chase
    3. God’s Not Done with You by Tauren Wells
    4. Let it Rain (Is There Anybody) by Crowder & Mandisa
    5. Nobody by Casting Crowns featuring Matthew West

If I’m not mistaken, nothing from Lauren Daigle’s album is eligible since she won last year, otherwise Rescue is far and away the frontrunner. She could enter the piano version of You Say, though.

Sidenote: I’m not a fan of performance and song categories being merged in this field. I see it as unfair.

Just realized that God Only Knows by for KING & COUNTRY is eligible (confused it with Joy, which was nominated last year). That’s defintiely winning.
