Because the biggest criticism for the Grammys outside of GD is that they have too many unnecessary performances and not enough awards shown. It’s an AWARDS show, after all.
^ agreed. For an award shown that is dedicated to celebrate music, I fail to see why they cannot have mini Super Bowl performances like they have tried in the past. I think that’s more interesting than say getting an artist performing their own song when I can buy a concert ticket (pre-Covid).

Nobody said that there should be NO performances. We are saying that the award show should not be cluttered with 25 performers (with tech issues) and only 9-10 out of 80 something categories highlighted in a FOUR hour show. That defeats the purpose of an award show. And no one wants to watch only 9-10 awards given out if half of those are going to be given out to one artist. Multiple artists and genres should be recognized on the main show as well.
And there have been plenty of criticism of the Grammys and their unnecessary performances over the years. It’s one of the biggest complaints yearly.

If they don’t manage to get her to perform with 9 nominations, I honestly think they’re done as far as established black artists are concerned. They need her a lot more than she needs them at the moment. I don’t see Kendrick or any of the other established stars attending in the future.
