I’d love to see Rise Against’s “Nowhere Generation” sneak in the Best Rock Song & Best Rock Album. It won’t, just saying I’d like to see it

Very, very, very, very, very, very unlikely. Grammy voters doesn’t like punk. Sum 41 and Blink 182 received their only nominations in 2012 and 2017.

She has no chance, but Rina Sawayama’s cover of Enter the Sandman is impeccable. It deserves consideration for Rock or Metal Performance.

people are so surprised about miley being in rockmetal categories like this girl didn’t have #1 rock album on billboard, lol, she’s not just a pop girl, accept it and move on. she has high chances on best metal performance – her rendition of nothing else matters was praised by critics and charted on rock/metal chart and she’s performing with metallica next week, i hope they’ll send the submission. people with less acclaim already were winning with metallica covers so why miley can’t? because she’s a woman? accept that she is talented and chill

Nothing else matters is credited to Miley Cyrus (Grammy nominee) featuring Watt (Grammy winner), Elton John (Grammy winner), Yo-Yo Ma (Grammy winner), Robert Trujillo (Grammy winner) and Chad Smith (Grammy winner).

Big Thief’s submissions will be nominated across the board in rock/alternative (if they release the album before the deadline).

I’m listening AC/DC’s Power Up… and we’re underestimating them. This album was a commercial and critical success and they might benefit from the lack of committees.

    Some general thoughts:
    – Foo Fighters delivered a very good album as usual, they’re probably winning Rock Album. I can’t decide which song I enjoyed the most, if it was “Shame Shame” or “Waiting on a War”. Whatever they’re choosing to submit they are also winning Rock Song.

    – As someone said before John Mayer looks like old news. Also kind of bland.

    – It would be very interesting if one of the covers (Beggin’ / Heart of Glass) get nominated in Rock Performance. Beggin’ is a damn good hit and Miley just confirmed she’s a good performer whatever genre she’s singing. When she had that weird VMA/Wrecking Ball phase I thought “she could have tracked a better way, she has a nice voice”.

I lowkey hope MGK doesn’t take the spot of actual rock/alt artists. He seems to have been kind of slept on with predictions but his album did top the Alt, Rock and BB200 Charts and was fairly well received by critics so we’ll see.

By the way, Poppy’s “Flux” recently arrived as a late contender in Rock Album to critical acclaim. I’m here for her getting in but I hardly see it happening. ☹

FYC | Best music this season:

Arlo Parks - Collapsed In Sunbeams
    St. Vincent - Daddy's Home
    Jazmine Sullivan - Heaux Tales
Tyler, The Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost
    Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend
