Mary J probably was watching the Pre Show and saw she lost 3 of the R&B Categories or was informed she did. She was over it when she got to the red carpet. She still has 9 GRAMMYs to her name so it’s still sweet. She had an amazing era overall .
Half of these 9 awards were won by riding the coattails of other artists. She is by far one of THE most overrated artists and we have Oprah to thank for that.
I am glad she was 0/0 because she didn’t deserve any of these nominations for that damp squib of an album.

On the other hand, I don’t know what the RA wants from Beyonce anymore. I cannot deny that she DID deserve AOTY, and it is pretty unfortunate how the academy doesn’t value her craft and artistry.

ReplyCopy URLHarry wrote Harry’s House during the pandemic with his two collaborator friends. It may be hard to believe because of his boy band past but that’s his truth.
It’s now apparent that he was probably blocked in the GF categories by the committee in 2021 due to anti- boyband bias. He is probably the only ex-boybander in the recent past to win AOTY.
The fact he was able to convince a plurality of his peers that his album is the AOTY probably means many of his peers believe that he is an actual singer-songwriter of his album rather than just a popstar waiting for songs from other songwriters.

I don’t see either of them sitting down and putting pen to paper to write them or working that closely with the engineers until final approvals. ” see y’all know absolutely nothing about him. It’s okay to not care. but don’t go around saying stuff like this when it’s easily verifiable how untrue it is. He might not boast about it because he is an extremely shy person but literally ALL his collaborators say how much creative and how much of a music nerd he is. From Ben Harper to Sammy Witte to Kid Harpoon to Tyler Johnson to all other musicians he works with.

Alphabetical Advantage. She comes up as “B” on the ballot. R&B voters are so unpredictable and that’s why it’s kinda the hardest field to try to predict. Some of those wins didn’t shock me at all though. I thought Robert & PJ Morton would’ve split so Mary could lead but Robert received his Jazmine treatment last night .

They be saying shit like “*objectively* Beyonce is the artist of our generation”. Nothing makes me happier than when people who can’t accept other people having a different opinion lose. There is no objectivity when it comes to art.
