there is something really strange behind all of this. they can’t negociate so close to the ceremony because every artist and the show crew needs production time to make everything happen. Next week they’re rehearsing what they created and produced this week. So no one should be negotiating at this time. I’m starting to think that they dont have any A List performing. maybe that is why this TV ad shows big names, just to attract people attention without mentioning “performances by…”. making people believe that they’re performing when they’re not just to atract ratings.
so i guess this HDD article confirms my theory above… They dont have any A List and are using their names on this TV ads just to atract ratings when this people not gonna even show up…

ReplyCopy URLThe only one that’s confusing here is Adele. Beyoncé, despite all her records, was actually thoroughly snubbed over and over, with 1 win in the GF. If I was her I’d also had my doubts going to yet another ceremony that might pop my face in a screen three times for the three biggest awards of the night and give me none of them.
Taylor is obsessed with validation and being rewarded. She cried for not being nominated to AOTY with a mid album, despite getting other nominations, and thought nothing of putting that moment on camera in a freaking documentary. It didn’t even cross her mind that it was weird that she was so upset. I can’t imagine she’s happy having been (in her opinion, probably) snubbed from AOTY and other important awards this time around. She probably constructed this entire scenario where she’d avenge Red for losing 10 years ago. It’s unfathomable for me that anyone would convince themselves of something so ridiculous but… why else even submit it? And she has shown herself to be out of touch.
So, yeah, her not going wouldn’t surprise me, though I did think she’d go because of the SOTY nomination.
In terms of Kendrick, it’s a mini Beyoncé situation, and he probs doesn’t think he stands a chance at winning any of the big categories.
In a sense, I think having so many big nominees at the same time is playing the Grammys to their disadvantage, especially the whole narrative of “Adele is undefeated in this many years.” Perhaps that plays a part for Adele as well? Maybe she feels like for the first time she likely won’t win all of the awards and doesn’t want to have the moment she loses one for the first time in a decade on camera?
Not saying the Grammys and its politics aren’t messy, because they are (because they wouldn’t be in this situation with Beyoncé and Kendrick in the first place if things were fair), but those are also a lot of egos to keep content at the same time. And satisfying one could make the other one tumble.
I’m kinda drawing a blank on Miley, I forgot to mention her. I have no idea what went down there. That’s before my time paying attention to foreign pop culture.
