This 7 they will telecast for sure:
Album Of The Year
Record Of The Year
Song Of The Year
Best New Artist
Pop Solo Performance
Pop Vocal Album
Best Duo / Groupthe other 3 or 5 must be one of each mainstream fields. I think:
1 Dance or R&B field
1 Country field
1 Alternative or Rock field
1 Rap field
1 Latin fieldthe category will depend on whos gonna show up at the ceremony.

Unless Adele & Harry don’t win in the General Field and there are four different winners in the Pop field, only 1 Pop category will be televised.
If Adele or Harry sweep the GF and ABBA wins Pop Duo/Group Performance, no Pop categories will be televised.
Rock will only be televised if they really want Brandi Carlile to have a televised win.
Alternative & Dance/Electronic categories are never televised.

But this year Beyonce is nominated in the dance field. So I think that there is a chance to be televised.

If Beyoncé only wins in the Dance/Electronic field she’s not even going to show up. She’ll only show up last minute if producers phone her to tell she either:
- won the 4 categories she needs to break the record of most wins
- won something in the General Field
Props to her for that

maybe she could submit the supposed upcoming sza remix to BPDGP? i think that has a higher chance than special in BPSP

STAR-STUDDED ROOMSThere is widespread agreement among biz people that most of the key Grammy noms were relatively on the money—indeed, there’s less discord on that front than at any time in recent memory. Even so, the Academy has seemed to struggle to manage its relationships with top-tier artists over the years. We hope Team Grammy will be able to repair its rapport with enough of these acts to remain relevant to new-school players.
CBS’ Jack Sussman and exec producers Ben Winston, Jesse Collins and Raj Kapoor have strong connections with top talent and may be able to convince more stars to appear. Winston declined to get into specifics in a recent Hollywood Reporter piece, noting, “The relationships we have with talent are so delicate, of when everybody gets announced and who’s coming and whatever else we just wouldn’t be able to say. What I will say is, I feel really great about the show this year. It’s going to be the most star-studded room the Grammys has been for many, many years.”
Meanwhile, wonderers wonder what’s going to happen when the Academy’s $70m-per-year deal with CBS expires in 2026. Does Grammy have a plan in place to offset the potential lost revenue? Insiders say leadership is bound and determined to turn the organization and the TV show into a global event. Will the big, deep-pocketed streaming platforms like Apple, Netflix and Amazon step into the breach as broadcast television continues to be a smaller part of the media play?

It’s way more global that any other music award show. Nominees this year include:
- Sweden
- England
- Puerto Rico
- Brazil
- France
- Italy
- Cuba
- South Korea
- Germany
- Canada
- Haiti
- Australia
- Jamaica
- Panama
- Colombia
- Uruguay
- Chile
- Guatemala
- Argentina
- Spain
- Mexico
- Pakistan
- Uganda
- Nigeria
- Ghana
- South Africa
- India
- Benin
- Lebanon
I would say it’s pretty global? It’s obviously an American based award show. There isn’t an American equivalent to the Brits or the Junos or the Arias, so the fact that there is this many categories and this much representation is actually quite positive.
I know it’s trendy to act like the Grammys are terrible, and they certainly are far from perfecto but to act like it ins’t the most global award show by far is disingenuous.svg” class=”emoji”
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 31, 2023 at 4:39 pm #1205278733It will be global when artists from other countries are on stage competing fairly and also shining fairly, just like others in the North American industry. So the Grammy may have this global status. What they do for me is crumbs
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 31, 2023 at 5:15 pm #1205278785Interesting, I actually have HBO MAX and they are going to broadcast the ceremony there (at least in Latin territory) just like they did with the Latin Grammys. I guess thanks to TNT’s broadcasting rights. The bad thing is that they no longer have the Latin ceremony available on the platform.
