Adele’s 25 sweep over Lemonade is an extremely controversial gray area. I think after Macklemore winning over Kendrick, it’s something that generated the most controversy and discussion. I mean, even Adele knew it. Does anything more need to be said? Sweeps are boring anyway. There are multiple deserving nominees each year. 2021 and 2022 ceremonies ended up good because they didn’t throw all their awards at the same person because of laziness.

Do you think Brandi will submit ‘You and Me on the Rock’ in Pop? It does not sound like pop. I liked her album (not her best, but solid) and I think it would deserve an AOTY nomination.

Girl, Macklemore winning over Kendrick Lamar is definitely comparable, though I will concede, it was 100x more egregious than the Beyoncé snub because 25 was still a good album and Adele had a career peak again.
Hard disagree about very few people caring. This trended on Twitter and Instagram for days and incited many discussions over the years. Even the ones who generally don’t care about award shows knew that Beyoncé was snubbed hard. Adele was on that stage breaking her Grammys and paying her respects to Beyoncé because she knew the entire optics were going to be really bad and Lemonade’s cultural relevance was out of the park.

They’re topping all of the best of the year so far lists, but then the Israel show back and forth is a bad look for their fanbase. This isn’t to say if the show they are doing is right or wrong, but more to do with their response to both putting the show on and then cancelling. Their fanbase tends to be a bit more of the far-left and now a lot of the indie music sites are dragging them… we’ll see if this is forgotten about as the year goes on.
Be Alive can conceivably get 7 noms if the oscar performance vid is eligible for BMV. 💀💀💀

now that they introduced the new category in American roots for best Americana Performance it could be put there. But I feel like dependent on if she decides she submits other songs for American roots field. Her being being put in pop with that song wouldn’t be so far fetch if she already taken care of in her field.
