Also, Adele’s album just fell off of the Top 100 Billboard for the Top 200 albums. So I’m not even sure if Adele is even gonna win AOTY, (yes, I know Grammys doesn’t care about charts) since this isn’t her best album (for Adele’s standards). But the Grammys are obviously gonna give it to her because they’re biased af.
It’s still the biggest selling album of last year, received a good amount of acclaim (I think it’s her best album), and is from a Grammy fave. People can be mad. But I still don’t see any real reasons for her not to win. Beyoncé I’m feeling will have a slight chance if the album is well liked enough and not “too urban”.
July 1, 2022 at 7:55 am #1205001316Matter of fact is, i didn’t like Adele’s album that much but it’s all subjective. I understand with some of you guys are okay with her winning but there are better alternatives like Kendrick Lamar. I don’t know if the Beyonce album will be great, i liked Break My Soul, it was better than Formation to me. Harry Styles is the most successful artist of 2022 so far, i liked his album too.
I got you stuck in the realness
July 1, 2022 at 8:11 am #1205001341I have no passion towards any of the obvious contenders. I don’t strongly like any of the albums or the artists, nor do I really dislike any of the albums or artists. I just don’t see Adele losing at this point and am fine with that. While Kendrick definitely ain’t winning. Y’all need to let that go.

According to GoldDerby users, Billie Eilish and Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga are supposed to sweep last year, luckily it didn’t happened. GD users are too quick to make an assumption. My country has a quote like this; hope is like the bread for poor man. So i’ll stay being hopeful but i won’t put myself into a delusion like Adele will lose everything but you guys need the let that assumptions go like Kendrick ain’t definitely winning. You are not god.

July 1, 2022 at 8:47 am #1205001406Why are you bringing up those silly polls that are always full of bias and people who don’t really know shit? Also, it’s not about being “god”. You know good and well a slightly controversial rap album with no hit singles and that’s hardly a blockbuster is not about to win AOTY, especially now that Beyoncé (and perhaps Cardi B) is in the picture. I wouldn’t mind being wrong, but like, let’s aim for realism. It’s more likely that a seemingly random person comes up to the forefront on nomination day like last year.

July 1, 2022 at 12:09 pm #1205001588Honey, this Grammy cycle is over in less than three months. Adele does NOT have any competition.
July 1, 2022 at 1:20 pm #1205001640Adele is winning every general field category

5.July 1, 2022 at 2:15 pm #1205001677I think there’s still that feeling of frustration from all the missed opportunities for Bey and Kendrick to win AOTY that we know was thanks to voter favoritism. We thought this would be Kendrick’s chance but as the days go by that hope is fading. Will it be the same case with Beyonce? Only time will tell.
Hi.
July 1, 2022 at 2:42 pm #1205001688I expect the album that will contain “Glimpse of Us” to drop around the eligibility period and be fresh on voters minds, in addition to the song not only being a hit but an artistic one.
My money is on Joji for now.
July 1, 2022 at 2:57 pm #1205001699hold my hand is not making it past the general field, it’s most likely getting song for visual media and that’s it (no, i don’t think it’s going into pop solo either)
July 1, 2022 at 3:10 pm #1205001717I wanna see a situation where 30 wins AOTY and Harry’s House wins Best Pop Vocal Album. Personally, Harry’s House stood out more in the pop sphere while I feel like 30 was a feat for herself. Not predicting it, but it would be fun if it did happened.

Big TimeJuly 1, 2022 at 4:00 pm #1205001758I hope Lady Gaga gets more than 1 nomination this year, Song for Visual Media I think is expected by everyone, but people seem to be saying no to Pop Solo for predictions? If she won for Joanne I think she can get nominated, I am not saying a definite but a possibility. I only see Harry, Adele & Lizzo as locks atm.
Beyonce better get tons of nominations because I really want to see her perform. (I know she has been outwardly courteous towards the grammys, but she has definitely moved on from the reverence she has previously shown them post-2017). I especially want Break My Soul to be nominated in a songwriting category so Big Freedia will be nominated.
