Beyoncé biggest issue is not her chart numbers longevity, but the thousands of writers attached to her album and it doesn’t matter it they’re because of samples, that will still prevent voters to vote for her in AOTY.

You saw the viral tweet of Diane Warren dragging her for having a song with more than 20 writers? It doesn’t matter if black twitter clapped back at her with the samples credits explanation, this is exactly why the average voter won’t vote for her in AOTY, thing that happened also in the past.

That Diane tweet was not a drag though, it’s the same question users here asked regarding Bieber’s Justice.

A voting academy member from the songwriters block being unimpressed enough to openly note this should rather be a noteworthy factor for the Renaissance team, but The Dream made it political with zero diplomacy.

He wasted an opportunity to dampen the Kelis drama on a white guilt tactic. He’s not even Beyoncé’s spokesperson or something.

Is it so difficult for Beyonce to create an art from scratch? Enter a room and make Beatbox like Michael Jackson did and create art from scratch. Melodies, voice, arrangements and playing instruments. It seems that this is very difficult for Beyonce. That’s the weak point of your career. I wanted her to win the album of the year. But we know that because of having millions of people in the credits she is losing to Bruno Mars and Anderson.

The Dream could have kept quiet.
Michael Jackson made music only with his mouth and his demos were almost a ready-made song. He wrote, sang, produced and directed the video. Not to mention Lauryn Hill who made music from scratch and still wrote it produced it. That argument from The dream was a full plate for the Grammy people to drag Beyonce again and give the award to Adele or Bruno.

What does Michael Jackson have to do with anything or Lauryn Hill for that matter? Nevermind that MJ had co-writers on pretty much all the songs he has credits on and that Lauren was sued for not giving credits to co-writers. Those were the folks you came up with? It’s always the newbies with weak, random “drags”.

As has been noted, Beyoncé was already probably not gonna win AOTY mainly because Adele is just too easy to vote for and because it’s a dance-pop-R&B album full of expletives and “lewd” lyrics. Both of those things are big strikes when it comes to older voters, especially older white male voters, which is still easily the largest voting demo. The album being so sample heavy (which is a part of its concept), the Kelis “controversy”, the potential unstable sales, that the industry knows Beyoncé barely writes any of music just makes her case for a win worse. And sorry to the folks kinda rooting against Beyoncé thinking it’ll help Kendrick. He’s not winning AOTY either. He’s not even close.

I know that Roger Friedman isn’t a parameter. However, when the Renaissance credits came out he commented on the album being made of patchwork, a kind of Frankenstein, due to the exaggerated number of samples/interpolations. Days later we had Diane Waren on twitter. We can’t pretend that the average voter, “real music”, doesn’t think like these two.

Let’s be honest, Beyoncé is not a good songwriter or lyricist and you can tell it also from her interviews where she’s not articulate which is why she has stopped doing them.

It’s easy to tell that the majority of artistic imput in her works is coming from her producers and collaborators, which is fine, tones of great artists are like this, see Céline Dion, she still is an amazing singer and performer, but her reputation also in stealing credits or getting credited just for inserting a word in a song is definitely not helping her case.

Conservative Grammy voters will love and vote for an album that starts with “Please, motherfuckers ain’t stop–, please, motherfuckers
Please, mother-, please, mother–, please, motherfuckers” <3

    It’s super easy this year.

AOTY is obviously between Adele and Silk Sonic, with Adele being more favorite. I don’t see any ohter scenario.

Kendrick is not happening, the album didn’t make a big impact, maybe if he  released last year.

With having awarded Baptiste in AOTY last time, they don’t even have to worry to go with a POC this year so they can easily vote for their favorite basic overrated white girl.

I just hope she will save us from another pathetic speech in which she claims Beyoncè has the best album or that is hard being a mom for a millionaire.

Beyoncé having writing camps will truly be a non factor. In fact, maybe it is a positive thing since a lot of those songwriters, producers, and engineers are also Recording Academy voters.

Also, look at what won a couple months ago:

Craig Adams, David Gauthier, Braedon Gautier, Brennon Gautier, Gospel Soul Children Choir, Hot 8 Brass Band, PJ Morton, Autumn Rowe, Zadie Smith, St. Augustine High School Marching 100 & Trombone Shorty, featured artists; Jon Batiste, Mikey Freedom Hart, DJ Khalil, King Garbage, Kizzo, Sunny Levine, Nate Mercereau, David Pimentel, Ricky Reed, Autumn Rowe, Jahaan Sweet & Nick Waterhouse, producers; Jon Batiste, Russ Elevado, Misha Kachkachishvili, Kizzo, Joseph Lorge, Manny Marroquin, Ken Oriole, David Pimentel, Ricky Reed, Jaclyn Sanchez, Ethan Shumaker, Matt Vertere, Marc Whitmore & Alex Williams, engineers/mixers; Andrae Alexander, Troy Andrews, Jon Batiste, Zach Cooper, Vic Dimotsis, Eric Frederic, Kizzo, Sunny Levine, Steve McEwan, PJ Morton, Autumn Rowe & Mavis Staples, songwriters; Michelle Mancini, mastering engineer

I highly doubt they care about stuff like that. No one doubts Beyoncé’s artistry anyways, specially not the voting body that has given her 28 wins.

Honey, Beyoncé is NOT talented enough to create art from scratch.

WE ARE is almost an album by musicians for musicians. That’s the appeal of Jon Batiste. It’s not comparable.

Lizzo won’t be winning anything this year, especially if she didn’t win for “Truth Hurts” in ROTY. I can understand the Harry Styles, Silk Sonic and Beyoncé alternatives, but some of you are grasping at straws, not “considering other alternatives because it’s boring to talk about Adele.”

Lizzo is so vulnerable this time. A lot of her votes will be taken away.
