Honey, told y’all Renaissance would be completely forgotten by November. NOT surprised Beyoncé’s numbers aren’t holding up.
September 11, 2022 at 10:18 pm #1205077882We need to get this straight for once and for all: Saying an artist “released the album of the year” doesn’t mean you believe the artist is winning AOTY at the Grammys.
“The album of 2022” is undoubtedly Un Verano Sin Ti, but Bad Bunny stands zero chance at winning a General Field Grammy. In fact, as a pessimist, I’m still not 100% convinced he’ll even be nominated.
September 11, 2022 at 10:48 pm #1205077895Would like Enemy to win Pop Duo just so JID can win a Grammy this year LOL
September 12, 2022 at 12:36 am #1205077934Beyoncé is doing really well on Apple Music compared to Spotify. She’s been stable in the Top 10 on Billboard thus far. I feel like she’s going to possibly campaign when First Round starts.
September 12, 2022 at 3:29 am #1205077996Honey, Bad Bunny needs a committee to get in Album of the Year.
September 12, 2022 at 3:54 am #1205078006This Taylor Swift discussion a few pages ago… the truth is that she has a tons of luck. If Folklore was realeased one Grammy cycle before or after she would have lost.
In 2010 she won because no one was taking Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas and Gaga seriously. Between Swift and Dave Matthews we know who has the larger appeal.
Then there’s 2016. Although the line up was pretty strong she had an unstoppable combo: a pop album that sold a lot, had its hit and had a lot of buzz. Sad that others genres couldn’t stand a chance, otherwise that trophy could have gone to Kendrick and even Chris Stapleton.

What you said seems like the opposite of luck. She’s a 3X AOTY winner. In three different decades. The voters like her and recognise her work. Is it difficult to admit this? Trying to discredit her achievements and chalk them to luck seems very lowly.
September 12, 2022 at 4:20 am #1205078022If your album is incapable to beat a #4-peaking Dua Lipa project and loses every other award then I would say you are most definitely beatable and set up.
Honestly, Dua’s FN is the epitome of longevity. By the time voting rolled around, I don’t think most people remembered or cared for the fact that it peaked at #2 in USA. It was the most illustrious pop album of the year.
A very inspired BPVA win too.

it was giving Ray of Light.
September 12, 2022 at 6:01 am #1205078095Honey, Taylor Swift totally got lucky. She’s a three-time Album of the Year winner due to white privilege. Voters like that about her.
September 12, 2022 at 6:13 am #1205078106The day Gucci acknowledges something nice about Swift, the world will end 😂.
Winning once might be luck, twice a coincidence but three is a pattern. Being white helps ofc but she’s undeniably competitive in AOTY.
However, loosing ROTY/SOTY while winning AOTY the first two times could be alluded to stronger competition in those categories but 2021 was porous, I expected a sweep tbh.
September 12, 2022 at 10:48 am #1205078458Post Malone & Doja Cat and OneRepublic fighting for a last minute Pop Duo/Group nomination. Not sure whether voters would scroll all the way down for either song though.

September 12, 2022 at 1:47 pm #1205078665Surprised at OneRepublic’s Top Gun:Maverick soundtrack song being bigger than Gaga’s Hold My Hand which was pushed as the main single from the film!
Do you think there’s a chance OneRepublic will get the BSFVM nomination over Gaga?
September 12, 2022 at 2:19 pm #1205078700One republic doesn’t really have good luck with the Grammys.. even with major hits.
