I timidly endorse the opinion that Bey could have higher chances to AOTY because of the ‘she should have won last time against Adele’ narrative. Ppl will want to vote Adele and a little voice in their head will immediately say ‘and Beyonce?’. They have been connected by pop culture I fear.

Not necessarily, I still think voters will vote for who they feel has the BEST album. They probably won’t be peer-pressured to that level but it’ll be so bitter for Beyoncé to lose 4 times in a row for AOTY.

I mean it is common knowledge Beyonce was robbed in 2017 with Lemonade, but many other grammy darlings have never won AOTY after 4 nominations

the album may still be among the best selling ones of the year, but for her standards the chart run is pretty bad. I‘m still not sold on her sweeping, my bet is on her loosing at least one category.

Beyonce, as always, will have a huge number of nominations, but what’s the point if she wins only the Best Progressive R&B Album.

I don’t see her winning in other genre categories, let alone AOTY.

If ’30’, the second best-selling album in the eligibility period, is forgettable, we shouldn’t even mention the Silk Sonic album.

Actually, “An Evening With Silk Sonic” currently ranks #126 on Billboard Hot 200 while “30” charts at #174.

It doesn’t matter but it’s worth noting that being forgotten by a single person or their social circle isn’t necessarily representative of an album’s impact on everyone else.

Most weeks spent in the top 2 (25)
Most weeks spent in the top 3 (26)
Most weeks spent at No. 1 among British acts (15)
Most weeks spent at No. 1 by an act with no accompanying artists (15)
Most separate runs at No. 1 (five)

“30” could be out of BB200 and it still wouldn’t matter. It’s Adele, it sold a lot (even if it’s an underperformance for Adele’s own standards), it’s her most acclaimed album and, again, it’s Adele. I think Beyoncé may still surprise though, but I can’t see AOTY going to anyone but them.

honestly people are over-estimating beyonce’s chances for AOTY aka the most prestigious award of the grammys.

her lyrics are pretty lowball, she has too many songwriters, she doesnt have much emotions in her singings and she relies heavily on MVs.

she’s not really  taken seriously as a singer by the academy and i could understand why. all this talk about “it’s her turn” just wouldnt fly in front of serious music listeners. if adele were to drop aoty it still wouldnt be her to pick it up.

Honey, 30 being @ #174 in its 45th week on the Billboard 200 is NOT surprising.  She hasn’t released a single in months or did any promotion.  Voters won’t give a shit about that.  After all, she is fucking ADELE!

a EDM house inspired album is never gonna win especially in a year where competition is actually stiffer than ever, Bey could pull an evermore in the midst of voting and it’d still wouldn’t go to Renaissance

at this point I think act II will be the visuals and that will not evermore her to a win

It’s time to let go of this endless summer afternoon
