Wait, isn’t Act II supposed to be the tour? Was it confirmed to be an album?
March 26, 2023 at 2:19 pm #1205364561ACT II is not the tour
March 26, 2023 at 7:22 pm #1205364984Lana needs to play her cards right with this new era.
She has Jon Baptiste on her album. She’s playing them alright.
March 26, 2023 at 11:52 pm #1205365222Two times Best Pop Vocal Album winner Kelly Clarkson is back with a new album titled Chemistry very soon.
March 27, 2023 at 2:46 am #1205365270Two times Best Pop Vocal Album winner Kelly Clarkson is back with a new album titled Chemistry very soon.
Kelly might be able to get a lot of political votes due to her current position in the industry. I have a feeling a few big pop stars will release this year so it’ll be competitive.
March 27, 2023 at 2:57 am #1205365276Yes I think Kelly could be strong this year if the album is not a commercial flop and it is well produced and written. It may be her first Album Of The Year nomination. This woman is adored by the industry.
March 27, 2023 at 3:38 am #1205365308Of course it’ll depend on what it sounds like, but I can totally see Kelly Clarkson getting into BPVA and AOTY, and maybe ROTY/SOTY/BPSP if she gets a hit. She’s very well known and loved in the industry and her talk show has only helped her profile. The album apparently will touch on her divorce so she might get even more support from the GP if it’s an empowerment type album!
March 27, 2023 at 3:42 am #1205365311Who else is expected to drop before the end of August? Crazy to think we’re now over halfway through the eligibility period.
Doja Cat has been teasing her album, I wonder if it’ll drop soon. Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish are all expected to drop this year, but whether it comes by the summer, I’m not so sure.
Rumors of the next Beyoncé album are swirling, I wonder if she’ll drop before August though?
Tyler The Creator may also be dropping soon, he tends to release an album every 2 years. Best Rap Album frontrunner?
March 27, 2023 at 4:03 am #1205365328I guess Ed will only get some filler noms. Doja already announced the name of her album, it’s coming soon I think
March 27, 2023 at 4:41 am #1205365336JESUS CHRIST, my “candy necklace” statement was…VERY controversial! that’s what you get for being delusional, i guess.
also, what do y’all think of boygenius’s chances of getting in aoty? they seem like a contender, although i’m not thinking of them as a lock in the category.
your mom called, i told her, you're fucking up big time!
March 27, 2023 at 5:02 am #1205365348Doja is 100% dropping this eligibility period. Beyonce probably too. The Act II is rumored to be released late April or May. It make sense cause she previously released albums alonside the beggining of her tours. Billie is rumored to Q4. She’ll not be in the game I think. Maybe a single. Dua is ending her album and that means it’s not ready to drop. Honestly I think she will come Q4 too with a song in the summer. But she is not strong in performance categories. She could be ignored if it’s not a smash hit. I’m not confident about Olivia Rodrigo. She looks a bit one hit wonder for me. Imo she is waiting too much time and she could be forgotten. There’s no any hype about her comeback honestly. Frank Ocean is coming but we don’t know if he will submit.
March 27, 2023 at 5:25 am #1205365363My 66th Grammy winner predictions (March 2023 edition):
AOTY – Midnights (sorry SZA I love your SOS album but there’s still Grammys bias towards R&B and hip hop)
ROTY – Anti-Hero (Jack Antonoff could complete the Big 4 feat in the General Field)
SOTY – Eyes Closed (well written sad bop track from Ed)
New Artist – Coco Jones or FLO
As we are approaching to April, I’m expecting 2nd quarter of 2023 in music to be better than the first three months because Taylor is totally sweeping at this point.
March 27, 2023 at 5:58 am #1205365380I saw that Adele announced she’s extending her Vegas residency and will also be releasing a concert film of it too.
Potential contender for Best Music Film?
March 27, 2023 at 6:17 am #1205365383I think we should focus more on longform music videos when we are predicting Best Music Film. Concert documentaries don’t perform well actually. There will be some nominees like this of course, but only few. I think Kendrick Lamar is getting in. He is adored by the video field voters. And I hava a feeling Lizzo could get in with her HBO special but she wasn’t nominated in Best Music Video for About Damn Time so she’s not a lock. Beyonce would have it in the bag if she drops Renaissance visuals.
March 27, 2023 at 6:50 am #1205365399doja seems like an early lock for the big 3, but i honestly dont know what the genre of the album will be so i guess we’ll have to wait for it to come out to predict
