Grammys Best New Artist 2023: Compiling list for predictions center

Hi all,

I’m compiling possible contenders for the hardest Grammy category of all: Best New Artist. Hardest for two reasons: because this has been kind of a weak year for new artists, and because you never know when an Arooj Aftab or a Tank and the Bangas will pop up out of nowhere. Here’s who I’ve got so far, including people who may or may not be eligible depending on how established the Grammys deem them and how many times they might have already submitted in the past. Please chime in with any and all names you would add to this very preliminary list.

Josh was probably credited in the album’s engineering, but I guess that since it’s a production category, they still have a shot (just like Finneas being nominated this year and have won this same category with Billie’s debut). Although I’m not predicting it, their song with Bad Bunny is gorgeous and could definitely get some voters attention.

I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed. We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down.
