Maybe the old white voters from Kentucky havent got their “yummys” in years and were impressed by the song.
November 25, 2020 at 7:36 am #1203871633Call me delusional but I think Taylor is ahead of Billie and Dua in SOTY. She get awarded for AM songwriter of the year means she has huge industry support. If they don’t want to give her AOTY then, she’s most likely getting SOTY as consolation prize. She’s long overdue at this moment.
For you consideration :
Album of the year : folklore
Record of the year : Don't Start Now
Song of the year : cardigan
Best new artist : Phoebe BridgersBest pop vocal album : folklore
Best rap album : Alfredo
Best alternative music album : Fetch the Bolt Cutters
Best progressive R&B album : Ungodly HourNovember 25, 2020 at 7:37 am #1203871635Alright then can you show us proof that there’s backlash against Taylors nom? I’ve seen lots to the Weeknd snub but I haven’t seen anyone truly upset that a universally liked album did well at the grammys.
I said IF SHE WINS there will be backlash because everyone is going to be reminded of Abel’s snub. I SAID folklore was JUSTIFIED. Do capital letters make it easier to understand?
November 25, 2020 at 7:38 am #1203871643I really haven’t seen any major backlash to folklore getting nominated. I think it’s because even people who aren’t her biggest fans know the quality is there. Folklore was honestly undeniable because of its acclaim and genuine quality in the music / production. The commercial success was just the cherry on top. Its a shame other artists who actually deserved a nomination didn’t get in.
November 25, 2020 at 7:38 am #1203871647I said here some months ago let’s speculate a scenario where The Weeknd is not in AOTY and I was attacked. Now that this happened we have to sit down and see the things from ground 0, where the momentum is, who can win, who has the best campaign set for final round of voting etc.
November 25, 2020 at 7:38 am #1203871649I just realized I never listened to Yummy before. Brb wish me luck

Okay so there isn’t backlash to Taylor’s noms and you are the only one who’s upset about Cardigan in BPSP?
! The claim in this post is disputed

Come back after 5 minutes. I have to check your blood pressure and temperature then after listening yummy.
November 25, 2020 at 7:42 am #1203871662Yummy is the worst song of all time I’m not even joking
November 25, 2020 at 7:43 am #1203871672The only backlash we will see when folklore wins AOTY is moriah fuming and whining

Best progressive R&B album : Ungodly HourNovember 25, 2020 at 7:43 am #120387167490% sure the pop field noms had more plot twists than a marvel movie. I couldn’t even process Yummy getting in over Circles and Blinding Lights because 5 seconds later Un Dia was getting nominated in BPDG
And the longshots that we had such as Changes and Dynamite seemes very normal after Yummy and Un Dia. But I was done after AOTY. All of first 5 nominees in AOTY were complete surprises like wtf is Coldplay doing here? What is Djesse? Black Pumas and Jhene? Is this a joke? Omg Haim? And then finally some sane picks Dua, Taylor and Post. Like what was that?
November 25, 2020 at 7:44 am #1203871679no one is gonna care if Taylor wins over Jhene and Black Puma lmao.

November 25, 2020 at 7:45 am #1203871687if the “only 500 people vote regularly at the Grammys” rumor is true then there’s a possibility that Yummy and, presumably, Watermelon Sugar tied in 5th with less than 20 votes each.
wouldn’t be surprised if in 2019 that 7 nominee lineup in Pop Duo/Group was the result of like songs receiving like 5 votes each. it is obvious that Shallow won by a mile.
