Moriahface makings case why Taylor got all these noms, but doesn’t ask how flop panned forgotten Bieber album and songs hit 3/3 in pop categories.
LOL. As if I haven’t already said that obviously Justin shouldn’t have been anywhere near those nominations. Nobody is up here acting like he deserved those. More excuses without addressing anything. I’m sure your tunnel vision has led you to think I must love Justin and Kanye, right? Couldn’t be further from the truth.
November 25, 2020 at 6:19 am #1203871272The BRP would only block Taylor in AOTY if she wasn’t undeniable. Folklore has been cited as her best album by almost everyone in the industry. Anyone who wasn’t predicting her was clearly in denial.
However, they have clearly set Taylor up for an easy win. Despite her over-performance, Dua Lipa lacks AC appeal that Pop albums need to win AOTY. Post Malone and Coldplay have no genre support at all. Haim failed to get into Alternative Album on a straight vote. Jhené lacks passion and her album received middling reviews. Black Pumas are too obscure to come anywhere close to winning. Jacob Collier has a TON of support from people in the industry but again his album is probably too niche to pull an upset.

November 25, 2020 at 6:21 am #1203871280I said it in the past and i am saying it again. Cardigan is one of the finest song of the year and it deserves its nominations. Ok it tanked on charts, so did black parade, i can’t breathe and others. Why don’t @moriahface say about this?
Were Black Parade and I Can’t Breathe voted for over Blinding Lights and Circles, 2 of the biggest songs of all time, in pop solo performance? I said cardigan didn’t do what pop solo nominees are supposed to do. The deflection is hilarious.
November 25, 2020 at 6:22 am #1203871282moriahface why are u only speaking about Taylor? Where’s the outrage for Dua, Post, HAIM, Jacob, and Coldplay? You’re just finding ways to attack Taylor cause u don’t like her and are upset she got nominated. She has nothing to do with The Weeknd not getting nominated, please move on.

November 25, 2020 at 6:22 am #1203871285Some of y’all are predicting folklore AOTY the way you predicted a weeknd landslide and I am SCARED.
November 25, 2020 at 6:23 am #1203871287I have yet to see someone say she isn’t one of the most privileged people in the industry. It’s unfortunate that they choose to honour white artists again and again and snub black artists in favour of them but you only choose to come after Taylor for some reason. Taylor might be a privileged white woman but she’s not mediocre. She’s talented and has been putting out quality albums for a while now. Doesn’t mean she hasn’t had it significantly easier than black artists but that’s the academy and the voters internalised racism. It’s not fair for Taylor to shoulder the entire burden for this. And as far as folklore is concerned, she deserved every nomination whatsoever so your argument doesn’t hold water this year. If you want to be angry at someone, let it be bieber or coldplay or some other truly mediocre industry plant. Taylor doesn’t deserve this wrath. She has the acclaim and the records to back up her noms. Especially this year. Also, most of you guys refuse to appreciate folklore because you cannot get over your biases against her as individual. Stop being so petty and appreciate music for what it is.
I agree with everything you said, it’s not Taylor’s but the grammys racist fault this strange outcome. I do think if she wins another AOTY she should adress the whole situation in her speech. Not for The Weeknd only, but for the Brittannys and the Roddys, and so many others that were severely snubbed this year. A white priviliged person and talented and intelligent musician as we know she is, should acknowledge that in my opinion.
November 25, 2020 at 6:23 am #1203871291I see a lot of people especially rap committee praising the Best Rap Album lineup, applauding them for nominating more traditional pure rap album instead of the mainstream one.
For you consideration :
Album of the year : folklore
Record of the year : Don't Start Now
Song of the year : cardigan
Best new artist : Phoebe BridgersBest pop vocal album : folklore
Best rap album : Alfredo
Best alternative music album : Fetch the Bolt Cutters
Best progressive R&B album : Ungodly HourNovember 25, 2020 at 6:24 am #1203871294I agree with everything you said, it’s not Taylor’s but the grammys racist fault this strange outcome. I AGREE!! She should really bring light to this in her speeches. Use her privilege for good.

Well actually last year Beyoncé did get a nomination in Best Pop Solo performance over one of the biggest hits ever. What a pop solo nominee is supposed to do: a solo performance pop recording (vocal and instrumental) and is limited to singles or tracks only
What Cardigan is: a solo performance pop recording (vocal and instrumental) and is limited to singles or tracks only! The claim in this post is disputed
November 25, 2020 at 6:26 am #1203871299let’s not act like Harry, a rich white man, doesn’t have just as much privilege as Taylor. I don’t understand why stan twitter thinks Taylor is the only person who benefits from white privilege, I guess it’s just their way of trying to discredit her.

November 25, 2020 at 6:28 am #1203871301Moriahface, I’m waiting for your response btw. You’re really big on “arguments with substance” so let’s see what you come up with now 🙂

But from what I saw yesterday, WS actually has the best chance to win it out of those three, doesn’t it? You’re changing your tune real quick to the technical aspects of the category now that it fits your narrative. Lol.
