The BRP should not be abolished. The nomiantions would be incredibly uninspiring.

I just think they need a bit more transparency. Posting full lists of submissions for every category would be a great start.

the BRP just needs stricter rules, they should be required to only pick from the top 20.

i know but deborah said they don’t care about the top 20. i mean they should have someone there to make sure they actually stay in the top 20, like make sure it’s actually enforced. i seriously doubt jacob and coldplay were top 20.

I think voters had like 5 options and then saw coldplay and said “well I guessss”

When this forum realizes that Jacob is highly respected within music circles and that he very easily made top 20 despite not being a huge seller >>>>>

! The claim in this post is disputed

Blessed Madonna helped Dua Lipa with The Grammys with her amazing remix album.

Yeah, best remix album since MJ’s Blood on the Dance Floor. Thank you Cursed Madonna.

Still celebrating over my “I told you so” about The Weeknd. Now we all know not to trust whoever GD labels a “frontrunner.” LOL, “tHe GrAmMyS rEmAiN cOrrUpt.” I legit rolled on the floor laughing. What the hell did he think was going to happen?

After listening to folklore and watching her recording session film I do think she deserves aoty. It still doesn’t justify how blatantly the academy set up her win tho. Like only nominating albums that didn’t even make it in their genre categories, meaning they knew they weren’t getting enough votes ?? I think they secured Taylor’s win by manipulating the process when in reality she could’ve won regardless, and then it would feel like a much bigger accomplishment. Now if she doesn’t win it’d be embarrassing and it’s not a fair race at all.

I can’t say I don’t agree with this statement. Based on how the Grammys reacted to folklore, she could have pulled through even with decent competition.

2019: I got “honey”-ed for calling “Truth Hurts” Pop Solo just for it to win that category.

2020: I got called “racist” for refusing profusely the idea of the abomination that is After Hours winning AOTY just for The Weeknd to deservedly get zero nominations.

Let’s see what 2021 holds for me, shall we?

I am not surprised to see Reunions shut out of this Grammy Awards. Jason Isbell fell far below my expectations with this project.

I kind of feel Sarah Jarosz was put in Americana just so the war between her and Laura Marling in the Folk category wouldn’t happen. Congratulations to them both.

I am extremely happy right now for Beyoncé on her somewhat least aggressive campaign year to land a whopping nine nominations.

Also happy for Chilombo and Black Pumas. Pleasant surprises indeed.

Surprised to not see Post in Pop Solo but “Yummy” is a nice substitute. (I think we all knew this would happen).
