Honey, I’m sure “Blinding Lights” beat “Yummy” on a straight vote. The song was removed for shady reasons.
No, just accept that blinding lights lost. Yummy should not have been submitted at the first place. It is the worst song of the century.
November 27, 2020 at 9:37 am #1203877549Honey, do NOT be naive. It’s rather obvious some shady shit went down and that’s why The Weeknd got snubbed across the board.
November 27, 2020 at 9:38 am #1203877551You guys looks dumb trying to hatch a conspiracy behind the snub when everything points toward the same direction. Nobody’s trying to justify the snub but it is what it is. He couldn’t even get on a straight vote over yummy, that does tell you how much industry support he must have had. Everytime y’all resort to talking about Taylor stans and all, I know you’ve lost the argument.
November 27, 2020 at 9:40 am #1203877557And anyway, how many industry people did you see speaking up for the weeknd? Yeah exactly.
Racist, biased, unfair whatever you wanna call it, they chose freaking yummy over blinding lights and it’s what it is.

Elton John, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, Scooter Braun, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith etc.
Not sure why you’re trying to push the idea that people aren’t upset about this snub, they clearly are. This is probably the most backlash the grammys have ever faced. More then when Macklemore beat Kendrick even
! The claim in this post is disputed
November 27, 2020 at 9:51 am #1203877580all irrelevant except Drake and Scooter Braun

I am upset too but nicki, drake and scooter wrote and spoke bullshit.

When was the last time a Grammy snub had both the biggest musician and biggest businessman in music weighing in on it?
! The claim in this post is disputed
November 27, 2020 at 9:56 am #1203877598That businessman is irrelevant after he bought his client multiple nominations.

No shade, but like only three of them are relevant and no, most industry folks aren’t upset enough about it. If they were, they’d rally behind him and call for the BRP to come to the mic. It’s radio silence from most of them and consolatory remarks over how he “deserved more” (case in point: scooter Braun) don’t mean shit.
And again, I can’t believe this needs to be said but nobody’s trying to justify the magnitude of his snub and act like it didn’t cause an uproar, but it’s not ruffled any of the actual people who make these committee decisions so there’s that.
November 27, 2020 at 9:57 am #1203877602pretty sure Taylor was celebrating
Swift also has damaged Scooter Braun’s credibility, as should.

You can’t be both irrelevant and powerful enough to buy nominations at the biggest music award show.

This is still the most backlash the grammys have ever faced.

November 27, 2020 at 9:59 am #1203877610Also, drake and Nicki Minaj literally used the weeknd’s snubs to weigh their own grievances about whatever beef they’ve had with the grammys, I don’t know what point you’re making bringing them up 💀
I mean, Nicki minaj thinks she’s bigger than the grammys but is still salty about a snub a decade ago.

He’s powerful enough to sway decisions in the direction of his clients and that’s exactly why his consolatory remarks to The weeknd don’t mean shit. If anything, they sound condescending and two faced to say the least.

That there’s people in the industry supporting Weeknd?
