Here is a fun but retired Grammy category. Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. I personally miss the gender categories. I believe Ella’s Fitzgerald was the first winner and Lady Gaga was the last winner.

-Whitney should have won 4 in a row. 5 total!
    -Saving All My Love (1986)
    -Greatest Love Of All (1987)
    -I Wanna Dance (1988)
    -One Moment in Time (1989)
-I Will Always Love You (1994)

-Mariah should have won for Emotions.
-Vanessa Williams should have won in 1993.

What are your thoughts on this category? Would you like a return?

Honey, music sucks too bad for this category to return.

Mariah Carey deservingly lost for “Emotions” to Bonnie Raitt.

Vanessa Williams should’ve won for “Save the Best for Last” in 1993.

Darling, this is a VOCAL category. Mariah deserved that award vocals alone. She also should’ve won for Fantasy and Butterfly.

It’s called Vocal to distinguish between instrumental tracks. It has nothing to do with vocal ability.

Adele winning over Leona was a crime back in 2009.

Get real!  Mariah Carey did NOT deserve to win Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Emotions,” “Fantasy,” and “Butterfly.”

I do not think that Bonnie Raitt should have won for Something To Talk About, but was more deserving for I Can’t Make You Love Me in 1992.

I’m glad “Bleeding Love” lost. It was bland and overwrought in 2008, and it’s bland and overwrought going into 2021. “Chasing Pavements” was a deserving winner.

MTE. If it had been Leona’s “Better in Time,” it’d be a different conversation for me. Out of the actual nominees, though, I was definitely rooting for Adele or Sara Bareilles.

Uhhh…”Emotions” is one of the hardest songs to ever sing. 👀 Mariah definitely deserved to win based on her vocal performance alone.
