Groups with feature artist(s) were usually placed in Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

Honestly thank God for the merger between the two categories.

One thing that baffles me was how Santana won the Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Maria Maria” when the only vocals on the song are by The Product G&B. If that’s not a harsh snub I don’t know what is. But I’m sure there’s some explanation to why it panned out like that. If someone knows please let me know.

These categories don’t make sense. Maroon 5 is nominated in this category but it’s his vocals are his and his alone. No additional vocals. Also, solo artists who submitted in the pop solo category have producers who write and produce songs like Adam Levine and Maroon 5. Those artists might have additional vocals. That doesn’t make any sense but what do I know? Just something to wonder.

You know that bands are considered for this too. Instrumental performances (I think) from bands are considered here too because back in the day there was a category for Pop Instrumental Performance. The other members are performing with their instruments/production.

btw how did “Maps” miss this one? It’s just be of my fave Maroon 5 tracks.
